I've already decided my new little human hunter alt is going to be an ex Scarlet Crusade huntsman I've also decided her stable is going to be mainly comprised of undead/plague looking pets. What I can't figure out is what to name them!


Diseased Wolf
Only pet I actually have atm. I named him Zealot, but I'm not satisfied with the name.


Undead Eagle


(White) Diseased Bear


Undead Piggy


Red Mastiff
Not undead, but of course a Scarlet Crusade hunter needs one!

I do want a Bone Spider too, I'm just really not sure which color to pick.

Also taking suggestions for additional pets if you're so inclined =D

Are you wanting undead names as well? I was thinking things like 'Rot' or 'Carrion' or 'Bile' would fit, but if you are looking for Scarlet Crusade themed names, these probably wouldn't work. I toyed with a bone spider named 'Spinal' for a bit myself, but decided he didn't fit the toon. Also, I actually like the name Zealot.

What about "silly" names? For example, I had that white undead bear and named him Zombear, back in Wrath when they could swipe .

As for additional pets, the white turtle looks very sickly. Also the white hyena looks eerie to (at least in the face... those eyes are haunting). Hyenas were used before mastiffs came out so that may be a thought

I'm definitely looking for "themed" names, I typically prefer more serious names for my RP characters (Grimsley has a moth named Splat and a sword-head wolf named Oops, but he's my raiding toon and doesn't RP). I don't even know what theme to go with, I had considered a Crusade-ish theme, hence Zealot, but I'm not sure how many solid names I could get out of that.

You could name them after authors who write horror, etc.

Some of these are names of Scarlet mobs, others are names I felt were Scarlet-y.

I think you should get the ghost saber to round out the collection.

That's an idea. I was a bit worried that I couldn't find an appropriate str/agi buff pet for her collection

I like the idea of a scary movie theme... some names I like:

Faust
Nosferatu
Onibaba
Shaun (...of the dead)
Phantom (the phantom carriage)
Jekyll
Hyde
Swan (black swan)
Thirteen (friday the thirteenth)
Blair (the blair witch project)

If you want to name them after crusdader-themed things, may I suggest things related to the real-world crusades?

Third Crusade Names:
Saladin
Richard Lionheart
Frederick Barbarossa
Anatolia
Leopold

Second Crusade:
Conrad
Zengi
Turbessel

First Crusade Names:
Alexios I Komnenos

Those were just ones I thought were cool. Of course, for the names that are full names and not just first ones, I would generally suggest using whatever part of the name you like best.

Fun concept! And now I want make an ex-Scarlet hunter. Only this one is (naturally) Forsaken and has only hale and hearty human-type pets, as befitting any member of the living races and—Undead what?! You're sorely mistaken. Your mind has been twisted by the plague! We must purify you...

But we're talkin' about you. I'm not sure what your hunter is like, but the first theme that jumps out at me for an ex-Crusader (and current friend of the Light) is virtue-based:

Charity
Hope
Piety
Amity
Constance
Faith
Grace
Joy
Mercy
Temperance
Patience
Providence
Felicity
Purity
Honor
Zeal

The theme could reflect anything from loving redemption of your plagued pets to teaching your enemies the meaning of charity at the jaws of a rotting juggernaut. It all depends on the personality of your hunter.

Another thought would be to name them after heroes of the Crusade, like those found in the Hall of Champions. And perhaps other Crusaders who didn't end up with monuments, like Fairbanks.
