My brother and his gf found this little girl last night on their way home. Pretty much decided on the spot to keep her. She's not in the greatest of shape but she's warm and fed now. Which by how quickly she ate and drank, shows it's been the first in awhile. Going to get her checked out soon as we can. But for now she's got her box and is super friendly. :D

This morning checking out her new patio area

Sleeping in her new "bed" (Best we could do on short notice)

You did get it checked for a subcutaneous chip before deciding to keep it, right?

Well, we haven't been able to get her checked out. We're keeping her as of now I should say. If she has a chip or anything she'll of course be returned home. If not then she'll be with us.

what you can do is go to your local shelter, they can also check for chips.

Aah, gotcha. ^^ Just wondered.
In Sweden pretty much every animal gets chipped (Except for birds and rats and stuff. Dogs, cats, bunnies, stuff like that all have chips.), I'm not sure if the US do that yet, 's all.

Not as many, most of them have collars. But our cat has a chip.

i love how adorable the little guy looks sleeping in that yellow blanket xD

i havent gotten lucky a chip or tattoo or anything... (he hates collars and wont move an inch until its off. Seriously. He sat in one spot for 2 hours with a collar around his neck) but hes purely indoor atm and his patterns are very unique so i dun gotta worry about losing him (anymore at least, my old home, i kept finding him underneath a neighbors patio cause he strayed too far from the door and got scared)

We found a vet in the area that is open and are taking her tomorrow morning to get checked out and all. So we'll know then if she's already taken ....hopefully not.

I'm a huge microchipping advocate and have been for years. This has saved the lives of thousands upon thousands of animals. If the little ball of fur isn't already microchipped I suggest getting her implant done. Here in CA they're not the cheapest but in the long run, if your pet gets lost and returned to you it's more then triple it's worth. :D

So glad she was found by your brother Aro! She's cute. She needs a bath but is very cute.

Shelters here do it on everything that comes through as standard procedure, and when you come in to get it done for your own pet it's only like $25-50 or so.

same witht he shelters and punds around here almost only they do it when they get adopted out, unless they were chipped when dropped off or found. you must let us know how it goes at the vet aro! i know chipping here isnt to bad really depending on where you go.

She is such a cutie but you can tell she is very young. no older then 8 weeks

I also endorse the call for microchipping. Our cat Merlin came with one already implanted when we adopted him from the Humane Society, and we fully plan to keep the chip's subscription up after the first year.

After the recent tornadoes down here in Alabama, many, many pets (who may or may not have had collars originally, or had collars but no tags) were brought in to the humane society/animal control lost pet disaster center. All were scanned for microchips in hopes of reuniting them with their families. So far as I know, they didn't find a single chip. Several of those pets have indeed found their families after frantic searching on the part of their people...but so many more could have found their homes more quickly had they been chipped.

To me, $16 US a year for positive permanent identification of my boy is a paltry price to pay for my peace of mind, should the unthinkable happen and he become separated from us.

And grats on the kitten...it looks adorable. :)
