I have noticed that there are some pets i Have I have wanted and have and really click with my lokkeigh, Arturis and Gondria.

There are other pets I have wanted tamed and am now a bit blah about. For example terroepene- I saw him in SW and was like ohh I want him. it was a hard tame even from help from a healer guildie and now I dont use hm I dont know why just cant say. Should I run with him to see if we bond, does the bond creep up on u. My shale spider is another, the squee squee is cute but in instances I just cant see him and hate the model look even though he has a cracking buff. I have abandoned him once felt guilty and got him back from a GM What is best BM tenacity tank pet do u think??

Anyone else get this?

To me it's based on what you want to use your tenacity pet for. I love terrorpene when I go to solo heroic dungeons. He's specced to be a tank and keeping him healed is easy. I been running these to get the special mounts and drops.

When I do BG or arena.. I love my croc.. he's specced to be as much dps a he can be and the melee class hates him for his slow. I also use a couple other tenacity pets in the bg's... the scorpid, the gorilla, and my all time favorite... the rhino.

I don't do much in the way or raiding or current dungeons. Most of the time I use a ferocity pet for them.

I can understand what you mean, especially about terrorpene.. the only reason why I still have him is cause he was the pet I went from 81-85 with. server first terrorpene and I am hoping maybe... itll work out between us  but my blue madexx is hands down my go to tank pet.

Hmm let's see. For my BE Khitsune I've tried a number of pets, but the way it's shaped up...

"Regulars"
Ancient turtle (Ghamoora, not TP)
Purple tallstrider (really wasn't expecting to bond with this one)
Loque

"Undecided"
Vyrkul demon hound (used to be her regular for pugs)
Krush
Purple spider
Silithid brain bug
Red fox (should be perfect for her, but just doesn't gel for some reason)
Worm (got him when their AOE didn't break aggro)

"Lost interest"
Stinglasher (used to be cool, but since they shrank boss wasps I think they look stupid)
Armored black boar (
Spiky brown bone spider (too grim)
Trachela (too plain colored)

I have already gotten rid of Terrorpene and gotten back my grey turtle Puca who served me through WOTLK. I never use Sambas either, but haven't sent him off yet. I'm hoping to rekindle us!

EDIT, have mentioned in other threads; I've also let go Skoll and Ghostcrawler. Almost got rid of Gondria, but she matches so well with the Winterspring Cub companion that I'll keep her for now.

i've released several "must haves" at the time that I ended up never really caring for:

Skoll, Gondria, Green Maddex, Karoma, Ghostcrawler

They just never kept my fancy

It happens, if you don't click/clique release them. They shouldn't be trophies, they should be companions. I like to think that they're happier out in the wild or you could even make a story that you let them go live in Gadgetzan or wherever.

I just cant seem to click with any Ravager, Scorpid (Lookin at you, Madexx) or Moth. I can't explain it, I know I need an interrupt pet, and Ferocity pets do the most damage, but thats my only reason for keeping Kanye in my stable at all.

I've rehomed 3 Sambas, 2 Madexx, and I'm considering releasing my current of each.

I'm kind of the same way.

Moths. The only moth I ever really liked was the glowing green one from Terrokar forest... until they nerfed the glow. Supposedly because some players preferred it without the glow, and that was the one source of red moth in the game. Of course, since then I have yet to see ONE player with a red moth - not one. Other than that one, I haven't found a moth I liked.

Ravagers. I finally found one I really like - an elite green from HFP. But... combat doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it's just that I keep expecting it to behave like a ferocity pet with charge, but eh. Haven't given up on this one yet though.

Scorpid. Way back when these had stacking poison, I loved them - now though... they look cool enough I guess, but it seems weird they have this nasty looking stinger and yet have no actual poison effect of any kind... not even a wasp stun. Instead they just grab people's weapons with their claws...

I was so excited when they made the blue dragonhawks in Sunwell tameable; finally I would have a hunter pet to match my mount! But while I loved the color, I ended up releasing it in favor of a wind serpent, as I just didn't like how much screen real estate dragonhawk pets take up.

As for BM tanking pets, none of the exotic tenacity pets are suitable for PvE tanking: the rhino and shale spider can be used in pvp, and the worm is our AoE pet. If you don't like the look of turtles, you can try beetles, as they share the same ability. Bears also make good tanks. I'm personally partial to ShaleDun, my copper beetle! :)

For me it is Skoll. I want to like him, I named him after my long-gone and sorely missed GSD. Just...nothing. Sometimes running with a pet can make you get attached to them, but not always. I have discovered a tendency in myself towards spiky pets instead of fuzzy lately, which I don't get, but hey. If you don't, you don't.

i love terror but im only keeping him cause hes rare, he has great contrast to my troll, and he was made famous for a day. I use Jadefang cause of the buff but my real heart is for Gezzerak for tank pets

dps pets change a lot... i dont even remember what my main dps pet is anymore

my rp pets are sometimes my dps pets too, but i like to go with skoll , arcturis, or karoma a lot and the others.. they just sit there lol

The ones I can recall right now..

Cranky Benj, the mining monkey from Deadmines(once he lost his pick axe I lost interest >.>), the seagulls (they screwed up their flying animation. they are now too low and too far out imo), Nix (I always come back to fireflies tho, I love their sound), mastiff, new silithid wasp model, orange core hound (chromaggus trumps it by far imo)..

Ones I can think of that a lot of people wanted that i never have : the white core hound, Gondria, Ghostcrawler, Aotona, Olm..

There's more in both regards, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Olm. He's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. The flapping got to me. I've kept him, out of some hope I'll eventually like him.

Oh, that's a lie. The ghost gem owl. Wanted since I fist saw that it would be coming in Cata. Got it, hated it, bye bye birdie.

I don't seem to be able to bond with birds. /:

Olm is my Umm pet right now.

I think he is gorgeous, and got him on both of my hunters higher leveled hunters as soon as I could.

But I was never a bird user, so even now, I'm still a bit iffy about having him. Love the look, but he spends most of his time in the stable now.

Loque, Terrorpene, Green Madexx...I camped for two and found the third by accident, and I keep them around so rare hunters don't titter angrily at me when I say I never use them, or don't even really want them anymore.

I think Loque looks incredibly goofy, but I wanted him just to see if we could click. Two days later he still didn't have a name and I was going to let him go until my friend commented on how derpy he looked - then he wound up being named Dorp. His entire character was based around looking silly and though I like the character, I never use the pet - I play primarily Survival now, and my go-to Spirit Beast will always be Spider/Karoma.

Terrorpene is...I don't like turtles. I don't like the 'main' tanking pets to begin with. I brought my trusty ol' boar with me to tank when things went bad, and he always did just fine. I know Torque is reliable and what he can and can't do - this turtle, on the other hand, is still a stranger and I feel no connection to him whatsoever. At the same time, though, I do like the warm, crackly fire noises he makes, and they're nice to AFK out to.

Madexx is the same deal. Livewire is a doll, I love him to death ever since he was a silly white and blue scorpid from Silithus, but he's trying to take a spot that's already taken. I don't need any more tenacity pets, and I don't even really like the Madexx skin. The drama surrounding it sort of sullied it's glory and I for one still can't understand why people have to get every color when they all do the same thing and will be inevitably unused forever.

I feel a smidge of guilt every time I open my stables and see a handful of pets I will clearly never use, because I have my five(four, really) and they'll always do the job a darn sight better than any newcomer ever could.

Sambas was another one I didn't bond with. The mane is just too overdone, like a big brown shrub with a cat peeking out the middle.

Didn't expect it to work out either, but since I was in the area I figured might as well check and voila, he's now lying around like a big rug in my stables.

A couple that initially were umms but have grown on me are Olm and the gem owl. I don't use them in combat, but I've found that when I'm doing a lot of traveling e.g. working on archaeology, they make nice "travel companions"; almost like an extra, larger mini-pet.
