Gondria and Loque.... I'm going to strangle you...

Unread post by Sydskipper »

Okay well, basically I need some help with Gondria And Loque'Nahak! (I hope this is the right forum...)

I've been camping loque for months now... Seen his corpse ONCE... Me and my friend camp and patroll all of his spawn points for hours a day when we can and still, nothing.

Any1 have and info that might be useful on Loque?

Also...

I'm currently camping Gondria's 2 main spawn points, any tips/pointers?

Thanks so much if you can help me! :D

Here:
Need help finding a rare? Check here first

That should help. lol

Also the Basin is ALWAYS packed and Loque is part of an achievement so he could be being killed and skinned within seconds and you'll never know.
I think it took me a year to get Loque. Months of that alone was spent on 12+ hour camps daily.
Gondria I got lucky on both times. First time I stumbled upon her and the second time a guild mate (this just happened last night) saw her and I tamed her. Since she was put in game I've seen her only twice.

Edit: Last two statement made no sense before editing.

From stuff i remember about their spawn times: Loque - shares spawn timer with King Krush.. think its 6-8hr respawn timer, Personally from my own expierences i've found him by the apes 3 times, by the wasps 1 and i've heard he spawned by nessingway

Ghondria: 24hr Spawn timer, I've seen her spawn a few times near the mammoth blood things

Loque and Krush do not share a spawn timer, and in point of fact have been seen spawned at the same time. OP, best tip I can give you is to try the early morning, when your server might be less busy. That's when I found Loque back in Wrath and tamed him...logged on for a quick mining spin around the Basin before I went to work and there he was, with the gorillas nearest the wasps. Good luck in your hunt!

Based on my experiences, I have seen Loque the most by the southern gorilla spot and at the SW of the hunter's camp spot and usually found in early hours of the morning (7-9 am EST).

Gondria, I don't remember the hours I usually see her, but I have seen her the most by Zim'Rhuk and (strangely) by Zim'torga, the main quest hub in the north part of the zone.

From what I've heard, choosing a spot, sitting at it for about thirty minutes, doing a flyby and going back to the same spot for another thirty minutes seems to work best. That's all I've got though, since everyone else has given useful information.

But don't forget NPCscan!

Though I can't help you with Gondria, I can help with Loque. I flew in circles for three days + rode in circles on the ground for one. Took me 4 days of circles and chatting with my guild. At the time I was spamming a macro while over likely spots, which I had marked out on my map using Mapnote. I ended up finally finding him on the third day as I logged in between classes and work. Only had a half hour to make a quick loop, caught him at the top of the map all alone on a ledge. I was so excited that I hit dismount while in mid air - fall damage.... then I hit the windows key as I dropped my trap. Caught him, my husband cracked up laughing at me, but I did get him tamed.

My advice? If what you are doing isn't working... go do something else for a while and come back to it. I'm the crazy hunter wench that the entire guild knows will fly in circles for DAYS on end hunting a pet when I have the time for it. I've also picked up the spirit wolf out of TH and Sambas in the same fashion... flying in circles... but with those I had NPC Scan in the background... didn't fall out of the sky on either luckily.

Loque and Krush do not share spawn times. I was camping for Loque in the Basin for some good 12 hours and found Krush accidentally while doing so but no sign of Loque at that time. ;)

Also, you should get a guildie or a friend to keep the other rares in Northrend down or rehomed. There can only be 5 (I think) up at a time.

Oh! Also, I eventually found my Loque on the spot just south west from the hunter camp.

Loque kept playing Hide&Seek with me all the years through WotLK, but I finally got him in March this year. My tipp for you:

Search in the early morning if you can, 5am-7am or so. I found my Seimei at 06:05am back in March, but I had checked for him the whole night before. And also, if you have an Alt who can travel Northrend, I suggest you to go hunting for other "normal" rares there while yourn hunter is parked in Sholazar. When I camped for Seimei I regularly switched to my Pally and flew over Northrend, searching for other rares in hope to get Loque to spawn - 7 rares later (yeah, 7 other rares that night, nice income of gold and so :D) Aotona spawned. At that time i was so frustrated because this bird was never a pet I wanted (didn't liked it in all ways :x). But I also did not wanted to kill it, so I tamed Hibiki just to follow my plan on making Loque spawn by eliminating other rares. (And guess what? Yeah, Aotona was named Hibiki, I only name pets which I've clicked with...some strange things happen, by accident I've come to like this birdy.) After this short incident I logged back on my Pally, hunting other rares. Checked via /who every few minutes if someone is in Sholazar, just in case...oh noes! 85er Warlock! D: Quickly logged back on my hunter, 15 minutes after taming Aotona and there he was: Loque'nahak walking peacefully through the apes at the east spawnpoint.

Long story short: Killing other rares with an Alt while hunter is parked in Sholazar helped me to get Loque, maybe it can help you, too? Or let a friend go searching and killing other rares in Northrend while you circle Sholazar.

As to Gondria, I couldn't say much. Only to search early in the morning, too. I found her with my Thara back in WotLK by chance in the morning, Neirana got her one hour after Loque because I flew with my Pally over Zul'Drak and saw the ghostly kitty. XD Maybe just fly over Zul'Drak without expecting her...who knews if it helps? ;)

Loque has roughly a 10 hour respawn timer (somewhere between 9-12hrs), not sure about crush but I know that he doesn't share a timer with the bird because i've found them both within 5 minutes of one another.

I'll give you a map with the number of times that i've seen him at each location, and the route that I've always flown when trying to find him: http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/5729/loquehunt.jpg

First time I ever found him was @ the south-east most location between the trees, both the 2nd and 3rd times were @ the central, southern-most spot(5). I make it a habit to frequently cross that spawnpoint.

Also, i've only ever spotted him when the clock was around, say(using 1 o'clock as an example): 1:00am, 1:20am, 1:40am, give or take a few minutes. I've yet to see him spawn at 10 past, 30 past, 50 past, ect.

Just some speculation.. and yes, it's much easier to find him on low-pop servers and at odd-hours when most players are working/asleep.

Good luck! =P

When I camp rares I get best results just doing a fly by at odd times when most players have been sleeping or have logged for the night.

Wake up first thing i'll log in quick and check my spawns.
Wake up in the middle of the night? check the spawns quick and go back to sleep.
Login and notice nobody is online, or instance ques are unusually short. Check the spawn.
Server reboot, check spawns.

Like this I don't force myself to be bored for hours and hours. Only way i'll camp a spawn is if im just queing for stuff...
