Hunter bugs?

I've posted this exact thing on the wow forums, but unfortunately sometimes you get more sarcastic remarks than help there, so I thought I would post my question here in the hopes you all could assist me.

I've been having some bizarre behavior with my character. I reported the problems alongside another small issue I had (didn't receive my satchel of goods), but the response only came with a response to my lost loot. The problems started occuring around lvl 30, but only very sporadically at that point. IBecause it was so infrequent, I figured I must have missed hitting keys, etc. But then after I hit 50ish, things went crazy.

My toon is turning around backwards every time I volley. She'll still shoot, but is facing the wrong way. No biggy, I know.....but just one of the issues anyway. The next problem is she's shooting without me initiating it. I'm not targeted on anything and not touching my mouse or keyboard. My husband didn't believe me at first, but then he saw it doing it too. My pet is also starting to dart off for no reason, even on passive. It'll just run off in some direction.....sometimes pulling things....sometimes not. And it does it even when I'm not fighting. The pet will also go missing. It's not when I jump, or because it's off fighting a mob out of sight. We'll just be running along and all of a sudden, it's gone. I can call it back, but it's getting to be a real pain. The final issue is the biggest problem of all, and what has stopped me from playing this toon completely. When I dungeon, if I put my pet on passive, it will not respond to the attack comand. Doesn't matter what mob I target, the pet won't move. Then the dang thing takes about 50 clicks before I can switch it over to defensive. It's driving me crazy, but I can't get an answer to the problem from a GM.

I'd say it's my computer, but I have multiple other toons with no glitches. I have a warlock, demon behaves fine. Everything else, just fine....it's only this hunter. I used to love to play a hunter and have leveled several up to the mid 60s before without a hitch. The whole thing really has me bummed.

Do any of you experience these things??? Do you have any clue what might be going on?

Thanks in advance!

I have the annoying Volley bug too. Petitioned a gm about it, and he said to clear my cache. Didn't help. :(

Yeah, most of these bugs have been reported, some are on the back burner to be resolved, others blizzard find not important enough to fix. It gets worse the less memory your computer has or if you have a bad connection.

hmmmm maybe connection. I think the computer is capable enough, but we do have spikes in our service due to the fact we live in a tiny mountain town with not the best service, and my three kids get online and bog down the system for my husband and myself. It's just gotten to the point that I don't even want to play the toon anymore. I'm getting yelled at in dungeons, but there's nothing I can do about the situation....I"m not causing it. I've offered to dismiss my pet, but then they don't want me to play at all. How do you all work around these things? I love the novelty of the pets, I really do. But I'm to the point that I wish we had a talent line that would allow us some benefit if we chose to not have one, or at least fix it so the pets respond properly.

I'm at least glad to know I'm not alone, and some how messing up.

Well, I've never had any of those problems before. But, I have a fairly new computer, so if it's some kind of connection issue, then I generally don't have a porblem (Unless my provider F's up again and I lose internet entirely). Maybe re-installing WoW might help?...
/trying to be helpful?

I don't know if you've tried this or not; but under your start menu program for WoW.. Try using the WoW repair.. You'll have to reset all your in game mods and your personnal preferances for all your characters though.. Another if your WiFi and not hardlined, you'll experience game flutters.. Because of the game dynamics; the mechanics of the game move faster than WiFi can handle.. Ethernet your game to the wall..If nothing else try talking to Blizz on the phone, maybe say that if you don't get help, your gonna leave WoW.. They do respond to loss of money/income

I love the bug where I summon a pet that was at full health and it shows up with 50% health. This tends only to happen after i have Dismissed my pet, and it drives me up the wall.

Mmm there are many bugs with the hunters. Some of the bugs you describe, like some others said, are known bugs. The issue with attacking when you're not targeting anything and the problem with the pet not switching to defensive when you click the button though... well I had similar problems, and it basically was because my mouse had gotten squished in my bag (one of those portable usb mice for a laptop). The scroll well was more or less always pressed down, and half my clicks registered as doubles and half didn't register at all...
On the other hand, you say it's only the hunter? It does sound weird. I'd definitely ticket it again, but I can already tell you the GM will ask you to delete your cache, WTF and interface folders. You can try that. (Though I always rename the interface folder - if it doesn't fix it anyway I don't want to have to re-download and set up my addons!)

I have had the target bug before. I will finish with attacking whatever mob it is I'm attacking, and not hit tab or T (target), but for some reason my hunter will target the next closest mob and start shooting. Usually it's not that bad, unless I'm already in over my head with two or three mobs attacking my pet and my hunter randomly targets another. Now I usually just click my pet's portrait and then assist him rather than tab/targeting, or Bad Things Happen. X_x;

But yeah, I dunno how to fix it..I hope the problem works out for you. Good luck!

I think the target "bug" happens if your current target dies and you've got a Steady Shot winding up, the game will automatically pick another target for which to apply the Steady Shot.

You might want to also make sure that things like Auto Attack are turned off in your Combat Options.

Oh god I can testify to Auto attack bug or SS bug, but even when I don't have steady charging and the target dies, it still makes me target something to shoot. Case in point, I've already used SS and killed the target. All a sudden I detarget and start attacking another target. Now while this is bad enough outside an instance.. I've had it happen in an instance.

Thankfully the only time it pulled anything was only once.

I've also had the backspinning volley too- and seen others get affected by it.

I get the volley bug all the time :x really annoying because I never notice it until the game tells me I'm facing the wrong way, causing me to fumble for a second or two.

I get the weird volley and always thought that I just hadn't been paying attention, but now I know it's not just me. How odd!!! And yeah it is annoying because I expect to pop another one off but I'm facing the wrong way. Grr!

No actually it's not fixed. You can still be deadzoned.

I have been repeatedly on several alts, even when the mob is NOT glitched and or has skidded.

I've had the volley thing too, but I don't mind it. it's really not that hard for me to turn around once volley is done or while I'm shooting it even.

I have a bug with my pets that depending where I dismount my pet is at 50% health. I've reported the bug months ago but it's still not fixed.

Actually, the deadzone is fixed. The deadzone as a problem was in PvP, where casters would try to be in 5-8 yards range if I'm not mistaken. The current "deadzone" is a bug with our melee weapons. It's about 5 centimetres big, and noone can have that much precision. The only place it can become prevalent in is if an enemy is repeatedly stepping in and out of your melee zone. And even then it's easily fixed, since we have Scatter Shot, Wing Clip, Concussive Shot and Disengage.

Yes but have you ever been 'locked' in place, just like the mages used to do, by an npc. THEN ALL A SUDDEN YOU CAN'T ATTACK.

I know it's not the real Deadzone but it's still frustraiting.

and should be the reason why we should shoot from melee
