About time!

An annoying experience of almost 300 VP solo runs for the Drake of the north winds mount, I believe I have only the rivendare mount left for dungeons, as I have acquired Raven Lord, Hawkstrider, Vitreous stone drake, and the blue proto-drake. I think I might be missing one or two, such as the occulus one but it looks like the cta bag is the only option to get that. Anyways hope Rivendare doesn't take so many runs.

Grats. I've honestly pondered if Altarius was soloable as a hunter, and now i know. Anything special you had to do?

Camo through all the trash(except for the orbs that knock you off).
You do have to kill the first first, pretty easy tank&spank. Not touching the whirling tornadoes will make the kill quicker.
Altairus himself is also rather easy but:
1. You need to stay upwind. If you keep staying downwind you will eventually die from breathes. Tornadoes are not an issue so there is plenty of room to move around. I prefer to have the pet tank the dragon where it stands. That way if you stand in the middle, 3/4 wind directions will be upwind, and when it is downwind, simply run across.

2. Breathes hit for around 25-35k and happen every 10 seconds. Cannot be LOSed as far as I know.
You must either:
Feign Death-You must do this early, about 1/4-1/2 in of the cast, it will not be canceled and it will hit you.
Deterrence-MM will give you two in one fight, very helpful.
Eat it-Unfortunately you will have to eat about one out of every two-three breaths. This is why if you stay downwind will hurt you. Longer steady shots make it harder to feign mid-cast, depending on your options. Glyph of Raptor Strike(major glyph) is likely necessary for a 20% damage reduction.

I recommend MM spec for extra deterrence/heals. Makes it much eaiser. With the upwind buff ~1sec Aimed shots increase dps significantly than another other spec, my kills usually range around 1 min 45 sec depending on how lucky I am of getting the upwind debuff. Its not that bad after a few tries. Runs usually last around 10 min so you ca do 5 per hour before getting the message "You have entered too many instances recently".

they put the blue drake back into Malygos 10 and moved the azure drake back to 25 man malygos. the raid is very easy at 85 and only takes a few people, so i'm sure you could get some friends to farm it every week with you. grats on your VP mount though! i'm jealous! :)

Congrats - you really stuck it out to do that many runs by yourself!

For those wondering how to easily farm this mount (if, like me, maybe you're not so great at dodging things,) I took inspiration from this post and took a balance druid along for my runs. The beauty of this is you can both stealth past trash and the druid provided just enough heals to allow me to eat damage. Druid dinged 85 from doing nothing but the first 2 bosses over and over, and I finally got the mount after some 60 or 70 kills.
