Should I do it?

I saw a hunter in a BG today using an exploit pet. (those spiders with the green glow)

Should I report them or no since it would put other buff pets in danger of a nerf?

Yes. That particular spider's buff is a damaging buff and its 100% an exploit that is of concern since it is not a friendly appearence buff

If blizzard allowed this it would be the must have pet for any hunter which they would want to avoid.

No Kurenio, it's not a matter of "if blizz allows this it'll be a situation they won't be happy with," it's that the player who uses this pet is much, MUCH more powerful than everyone else in the BG and is cheating. That kind of behaviour shouldn't be condoned.

Well I put in a ticket and got a GM rather quickly. (guessing the keywords 'exploit' and 'damage buff' worked) He told me thank you for making a note about it and that hunter who had the pet will get its buff removed and will get a good talking too as well.

Hopefully he will think twice about taming anther pet like that soon.

Appearance buffs such as Lone Hunter with the sword in his head is an exploit but its one that blizzard will turn a blind eye to unless it comes face to face with an alerted GM that decides to take action. Blizzard doesnt watch us, they trust us to make responsible decisions and we are exploiting a loop hole that is part of the games mechanics, blizzard cant fix it, its impossible to stop someone from taming a pet with a 'buff'. Its up to us players to keep the ones who try to cheat in check since they cannot on their own. Appearance buffed pets players usually turn their heads to and let the hunter play with their toy but when its a buff that causes damage, its a problem and somewhere down the line the hunters gonna get the exact same thing that GM is doing to him. Its only a matter of time if Qinni hadnt reported.

Im sure many pvpers thank you Qinni from this hunter, that debuff cost my lowbies quite a few of their lives when i get ganked by several in their original zone. To find it in a BG is exceptionally cruel for those at the wrong end of its fangs

I'm glad I could help in someway, I know I wouldn't want to be on the other end of a pet that dose extra damage + being a BM pet. >.<

Must have hit REALLY hard.

Well it appears blizzard has hotfixed it quickly I've been trying for the past hour to tame him just to see if I could. With all 3 methods and with none he keep the buff or the green aura
