really? i thought they changed deterrence so that now it makes them miss instead of parry. i could be wrong tho.

Deterrence causes attacks to miss now.

However, I'm unsure as to functionality of Deterrence while casting/channeling (you can't usually avoid during casts), and it does only last what, 5s?

Try getting a friend to take the hit as a martyr. It might have a cooldown on it so, sac your buddy and get the tame off.

Maybe it will only cast it once so you will have to wait to deterrence out of it b4 starting the tame

Guessing the wild version of this pet might be really slow moving? So you'd have to position exactly right and tame maybe?

I imagine that you will need to kite Deth until he is under 10% HP, for he will use that if he touches you.

I didn't realise this about deterence, I don't actually -use- it much

And really, I planned to hit it with a snake trap so it would chase the snakes and blow it's Deth Strike CD. (Hopeful, but not likely, as such I also have other plans)

If it has no CD? Max range+ Corehound ancient Hysteria+ anything else that will stack with it.

Pretty sure he also has a spell that increases his movement speed unless he's taking damage. I'd imagine you have to DoT him up and tame.

This was already discussed in another of the threads. I posted my theory there.

Oh yeah, forgot the speed buff drops with damage up. Depending on various haste buffs and such, this may be easier than thought. My guess is he'll be in a -very- aggro filled area, making getting max range to tame a pain, or he'll be in a very small space, thus making it more difficult to get the needed range.

Y'owch, that Deth Strike must hurt, what is it? An Arachnadeathknid D:?

Ah, very clever. I don't like the ganking potential here; heck, I could easily see a player noticing that some poor hunter is being chased by this beast, and 'helping out'. But... what can you do?

Highly unlikely; when The Beast was made tamable, Blizzard didn't decide to make all other red core hounds untamable.

No, the value in that particular spider is in the experience.

So, those 3 mean that Deth'thilac hits for sure if it reaches us, it increases it's speed when not taking damage and the healing we take is reduced by 99%
