Today is June 2, 2011 and it looks like they changed the Lava Bore Blunderbuss to Lava Bolt Crossbow, appears that this tooltip is still showing it as "Gun" but oddly enough the name has been changed showing it as a "Bolt Crossbow" rather than "Bore Blunderbuss".

Looks like us Dwarves might have to deal with using a PvP gun presuming it's BiS for us again in 4.2 .

Please note that the "Gun" and Crossbow have the same exact stats, so they may have made a simple error or changed their minds about giving us a Gun. But if you look at these two weapons on wowhead they are different colors.

Current Ranged Weapons on 4.2 PTR:
PvE Bow: Arathar, the Eye of Flame
PvP Bow: Ruthless Gladiator's Longbow

PvE Crossbow: Arbalest of Erupting Fury
PvP Crossbow: Ruthless Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow

PvE Gun: Extreme-Impact Hole Puncher and maybe Lava Bolt Crossbow since it's still marked as "Gun" in the tooltip...

*Scratches head* Sad day to be a dwarf. I wonder if it's just an error, because I find it a bit strange decision for them to leave guns out of a tier AGAIN.

That's a little strange. Do we really need two PvE crossbows? What are the ilevels on these weapons? (I'm at work and can't access Wowhead or mmo-C.)

The crafted gun is 365.

The raid drops are 378 or 391 for the heroic version, except Arathar is 384/397.

Actually, the Arbalest and the Lava Bolt thingy are nigh-identical, except that the Lava Bolt one's vendor price is about 60s higher. Same stats, same speed, same damage range.
