When your guild completes the staff, the pet will be available from the guild vendor for some gold, it's a BoA item, so you can mail it to your other characters. So no need to be you the one who completes the staff.

I think I squeeled so high dogs could certainly hear it at the other edge of town. She is so cute it hurts. I can't wait to get that!
