Now that we've calmed down about the rares (and other ptr)

About the rares...

No, it wasn't lazy or anything like that. The new techniques required to tame, and even the models took a lot of work meant just for us, and Noah should be thanked. They actually fit well into the overall ecosystem there in the Firelands.

The only real issue with the rares is the way they were announced led to wild speculation, and then dissapointment (myself included). Just letting them be discovered would have been far better. 5 spiders is fine I guess, just means I won't be chasing all 5.

About the guns (or lack therof..)

If our raid drop gun is turned into a crossbow, Slickrock will be sitting out the rest of the expansion. He's already on backburner, and I have no desire to play a class/race combo that Blizz is basically mocking if that change makes it to live. I'd advocate race changes, but that would just put money in Blizz's pockets.

Pet stance changes...

I do think that will impact PVP representation, but it will make for cleaner PVE, even if it does mean fewer options and a bit of a dps nerf.

Careful Aim nerf..

Meh, BM points points into Pathing, SV picks a BM talent.

AEO nerfs..

Blizz, really, BM needs some AOE, and no, worms don't cut it.

Yeah, I feel bad I'm kinda gimped on AoE fights. >< Granted, BM shouldn't be best at everything. I hate the removal of aggressive stance. It was better than flare these days for jumping a stealther (Granted, if the rogue knows the pointy end of his knife from his backside and has cooldowns up...). Ah well.

Blizzard could implement a talent to increase the damage of volley/explosive/snake traps or just plain add an ability like this :

Savage Dash
40 focus (Of the Hunter)
45 sec Cooldown
Sends your pet on a raging frenzy, attacking all
nearby enemies on a 8 yard radius for X damage
every second for 8 seconds. While attacking, your
pet can't use other special abilities, receive new
commands or use Beastial Wrath or Master's Call.

I don't know, could be deeeeep down into the Beast mastery tree, like at the same range of the beast within.
And this is just an ability I just threw out, not balancing it yet lol.

What's wrong with chimaera for aoe fights? even if you don't micromanage on a BM hunter lining up their cooldowns correctly can still inflict damage equivalent if not better than an MM hunter on fights like H. Maloriak. You won't beat an SV hunter, but you're not supposed to. My solution would be an ability that shares a cooldown/cost with Kill Command that makes the pet's next basic attack hit 2-3 nearby targets or something.

I'm not certain what's with Blizzard's unwillingness to put in a pve dps gun, but if 1% crit is so all-important, get the pvp gun or reroll a worgen. Just before major patches are usually the best time to reroll anyway.

Me, I jst want them to put in lavascale catfish schools so I don't have to pay botters to make mastery food and feasts, but whatever.

I'm not a fan of guns myself, but I absolutely respect the dwarves' need to have them. Hopefully the crossbow classification is in error.

I also completely agree that the spiders fit the Firelands ecosystem perfectly. They really blend into the landscape. :)

On the guns thing:
I HATE GUNS SO MUCH. OMG! I hate them almost as much as I do the TBC spider noises.
BUUUUUUUUUT
I'm totally for guns being added because yeah, Dwarves need to have them. Either that or a new racial passive. But I mean, cmon, give the dwarves their guns D: Even if I do have to get ear plugs ;)

On the spiders thing:
I actually don't feel like Spiders fit at all. I mean color-wise, yes. But any pet with magma-skin like that would fit there theoretically speaking. I just don't really get how spiders = fire I guess. Maybe for that one boss but hm... Idk...

More colored corehounds would've made sense to me. But hey, I'm not hating on the spiders XD I'm just saying I don't get the spider/Firelands connection.

Well, there is a precedent for lava spiders, since there were lava tarantulas in Searing Gorge back in vanilla. The fire just got....shinier. ;)

When you see the zone, they do rather blend in, especially since a lot of the ground is...well, on fire in some manner or other.

Than my assumptions from my thread are correct.

SPIDERS ARE EVIL. Cause I mean Searing Gorge was evil.... Now Firelands is evil....

Oh yeah... it's all coming together.

I think it's more design-wise that they fit, since the are kind of crystaline. But you do find spiders and scorpids in nasty climates, so...

You'd be amazed where spiders can be found.
