So I appear to have a problem.

Tamed Chromaggus last night with the help of my guild. After that was done, went to ZA to try him out, and once we finished the gaunlet, we remained in combat. We died, tried to reset, nothing worked. Put him in the stable, tried with another pet later, everything was fine. Tried Chromie again tonight, and same thing happened.

He appears to be bugged where once combat is entered, he is keeping the group in combat. Even if he dies and is rezzed, same thing.

Any ideas?...

This is a known issue, and it does suck.

In the meantime I'd suggest keeping Chromie out of heroics, or else taming a temporary corehound.

Gaah.. so I dragged my guild through that for a pet I can't use?.. Something tells me this is one of those things that will not likely get fixed soon.

Yeah. It's a bug. Something to do with his ability. Any pet who has an ability that can hit more than one mob is unfortunately subject to this bug.

Hmm... I don't remember him having this problem on my ally hunter back when he first was available. They must have introduced the bug later on.

That's just ex-boss pets, right? Not other aoe pets?

Sigh... to the stables he goes permanently (not going to risk bringing him out in a raid or something). Now I have to go apologize to guildies for getting them to help me tame a pet I can never use.

Hmm I used my chrome in zul'aman and we could just eat/drink fine after boss kill.

Well I've done it twice and can confirm it's bugged. I wonder if it depends on when in his phases you tamed Chromie, or how long ago? I should try it on my ally hunter, as he's had Chromie since just a bit after he became tameable.

I've only ran into this problem while in the new heroics. I run the older ones and do the raids all the time and it never bugs out then. Everyone I know has only had the problem while in the new stuff. You can still use him, just maybe not in the new ones. Last time I did use him in ZA, I think we bugged out on the fourth boss. When I was in ZG the first time, he never bugged out. So I dunno, maybe it's just random when it bugs out, but most of the time, I've never had this problem with him (and I use him 95% of the time).

Are you guys sure his AoE breath isn't hitting critters & thus keeping you in combat with them?

Nope. You stay in combat permanently. Die, and you can't get back in because "an encounter is in progress". Wipe, and no on can get back in.

I have Chomaggus and have never encountered this bug at all. And I've used him in the new dungeons before.

Well, mine's sure bugged. Will have to try my Ally hunter, and see if the older taming makes a difference.

He may have retained his "boss pulse" for some reason.

I don't know why some people have it while others don't. The issue involved any pet who hit multiple targets with their abilities. Maybe that specific ability wasn't on auto for some people? I don't know. Either way, it's been a bug that was introduced about 3 weeks ago -- roughly 2 weeks after the 4.1 patch. Very annoying. Specifically when I found out I was essentially the cause of locking people out of the dungeon.

I've encountered it with Chromaggus in the ZG 5 man and Al'akir 10 man. In ZG the bug would kick in at the trash pack up the hill and a little to the left of the snake boss as well as somewhere around the fire spewing masks. It happened every time we tried the place until I went in with an old school cat.

I've never encountered the bug anywhere else, which is nice, since my 10 man likes having Gir/Chromaggus around in BoT and BWD so our resto shammy doesn't have to worry about Bloodlust.

I've only had chromaggus bug on me during the council in To4W.

I haven't had mine bug out either. Dunno what's causing it, but I'll be sure to keep it in mind.

Had this happen tonight, luckily found a post on the o-forums ... ""Raid bosses that were tamed by hunters tamed prior to 4.0.6 can cause ZA & ZG to be permanently stuck in combat" .. so was able to explain to the guild why we couldn't get back in to loot the stuff we left trying for the timer ... oops >_< I had Chormaggus out at the time, first time I've used him in awhile (often have a shaman/mage in group so no need) ~ Obi

WOW so now i know.. was wondering why it happened never dawned on me cause of my chromie...

Got Chromaggus earlier today and ive run an MC and a few dungeons and so ones been bugged so i guess i got lucky today but looks like i'll need to use my horde war wolf KibbleofWar for my groups if hes bugging people into combat D:
