Kirix was just killed in front of me...... and the two who killed him survived. Please help this poor spider. We don't want him to be smooshed. :(

His posion and attacks are hardcore so how they survived I dont know. I mean GC would pwn them, Solix would pwn them, Deh would pwn them, skitter would probably pwn them.. Anthriss maybe.. they need more health.. except Deh

I dunno, I can think of how the dk could probably handle Skitter. :/ And Solix, actually. Challenging kills...heh. Could be done, though.

A dk tried to kill solix on me, three times each time died within three hits.

He was probably trying to straight tank him, which would definitely fail.

Ugh, I hate thinking like this. :/ Why can't people just leave the hunter pets alone?

Because with vanilla, BC and wrath, blizzard implemented the ''Rare= lootz'', and some people think that killing rares will give them something like the ''Bloody rare'' or ''Frostbitten'' achievements.

Or they are just plain assholes.

Aye, I know; tis a rhetorical question. Unfortunately, human nature can't be coded out.

And we all know half of the playerbase just skims patch notes for what concerns their class, if that, so seeing that these are 'hunter rares' isn't always likely.

Maybe they were just trying to kill something with a strange/challenging mechanic? XD I mean sure, it sucks that people kill Hunter pets, but I don't think Hunters have the "claim" to everything.

I admit it, even I kill rare spawns I see (if there's no hunter present/they're not Cata rares). I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I do sometimes want loot/items XD

Normally I'd agree that we don't have a claim to rares, but in this case, not so much. These were put in for hunters. There's no getting around that. This time, Blizzard SAID so. If you go to hours of trouble to kill a rare when you know it won't drop anything worthwhile and it'll make people around you miserable because it was meant for them and not for you, that's just cruel. Now, if you somehow didn't know it was a hunter pet beforehand and you don't kill it again afterwards, well, that I can forgive, but otherwise...

There's nothing wrong with them killing these spiders. They were put into the game, and there is no restriction on who gets to kill what. I'll agree that killing something that only drops the tear is unnecessary, but they could just want the thrill of a challenging kill, or want to write up a tactics spreadsheet. Who knows?

Normally I'd have to say hunters don't have claims to rares but this time, I'm saying they do. blizzard specifically put those in for hunters. It's wrong to kill them. they drop nothing worthwhile.

If it's in the hunter class patch notes, I'd say it's for hunters.

They can be "hunter only" all they want. Until there is a way where no other class can lay a finger on them through attacking, unless you're a hunter, people will kill them. If I see one out and about, and there is no hunter in the zone after asking or /who, yes, I will kill these rares. Why? Because why not? They're challenging to kill. I'm the kind of person who likes to kill really big or hard things for giggles. I tried to see how long I could bear form against Thrym (Without raid gear, a minute.) or take fel reavers down when I could for fun. These spiders are just another case like that. *shrug.*

Call me heartless, call me cruel, call me a griefer or a troll, but that's my stance on it. I found it, I do what I want with it. Hunter should've been in the zone or camping them, since there's what, only one spawn point for each?

These rares are made specifically for hunters to tame. Patch notes 8 new challenging rare TAMES not kills. They even say on rare itself that you need to do something in order to tame it. There is no reason to kill them, they really dont agro unless your almost on top of them and most are out of the way so really why spend over a 100g in repairs for 25g and a crushed hunter who maybe you know decided to have a little break from camping to preserve their sanity all for your "thrill". You want a challenge.. raid. Youll get epics instead of a useless 25g from a rare who essentially doesnt mean a thing to anyone except hunters.

Fel reavers etc is alot different then some extremely rare tameable mostly unique spiders. There is only one spawn point for each but if you just want any spider they are placed all over the entire zone. I hope that blizzard ups their health and makes them alot harder to kill. Cause ill be that hunter cheering at the rare while he kills rude people who for some reason still have this "see rare kill for "epic" loots mindset. The beginning of cata has long since past theres no reason really to attack them when pretty much its well known it drops only 25g. I find it more of a thrill to find someone to tame the rare they really wanted instead of seeing how "epic" I am by killing it. To those people I say go and find GC.

Looks like people think "okay the cata rare beasts didn't drop phat loots, maybe this time they will!" or "this has difficult mechanics and will be hard to kill... Let's see if we can do this!" It makes sense to a degree since people think if they stop and check to look if the mob drops anything someone else will get it and the whole "I want to see how awesome I am" thing is prevalent in pretty much all games online or not.

People trying to kill the rares is pretty much a given. There are also no rules on who can kill what. They figured a workaround in his mechanics to kill him which I think is kinda impressive. It's upsetting to the people who want to tame yes, but what can you really do?

Any workaround to kill them I hope is severely fixed and they become like GC but just cant be agrooed unless attacked. I actually had to go right on top of Deh in order to agro her so obviously its all good and no worries about accidently pulling agro and getting attacked.

Oh and.. I dont think my cat understood about how rare spiders are. She just ate one  I think it was solix cause it was fast but she managed to uh.. eat it. The spider did not drop phat lootz no. No epics..

A challenge I get but blizzard implemented a ton of challenges which give achievments like the molten giant one, and killing those four elites. Its not about hunters being entitled to them but when blizzard puts these rares in obviously for hunters I think it would be nice if people would respect that and let a hunter tame something they really would like. And alot of people dont spend the time to see if anyone would like the rare, just "oh rare kill it!" kinda thing..

I guess cats just like things that are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside? And maybe she is hiding the phat loots because she doesn't want to share? Cats can be selfish you know.

But back on topic, I would find it entertaining if they changed the mechanics to better kill people out to kill the new rares for giggles, but I do understand the reason people go out and do it. It's not something I would do personally or at all though.

Hahaha maybe I do actually think she stole the BOE epic .. greedy cat rolled need when its a polearm and shes a druid! Like WTH!!

So would I.. you have no idea how hard I laughed when that DK got pwned by Solix, its heart breaking to see someone killing the rare you want but missed out on by a matter of seconds.

Druids can use polearms....!

Seriously, though, if it's a challenge to kill, there will be people attempting it. Ghostcrawler has better defenses than most, since his combined health pool and phasing ability protect him, even if nerfbat could be gotten around. On one level, I can understand the desire to do so....on the other hand, these rares really are meant for us, so if there are hunters around, they really should get first priority.
