Why Brown?

I have camped for Madexx three times now each time he spawns he brown. Why did Blizzard leave the brown Maddexx skin in the game? If I wanted to get his brown color I would fly a few feet over and tame a Venomscale Spitter, no need to camp for them. It is extremely aggravating to wait hours on hours for him to spawn over and over in his brown skin, and lazy on Blizzard’s side to not have removed this skin from him. Only option has been to kill him each time in order to reset his spawn timer.

Becouse some people may want to tame the brown madexx.

Plenty of people like the brown Madexx, but I'd rather not see another argument about that angle.

In any case, think of Madexx as a lottery. You can't always win, sometimes there are blanks or false draws. I'm sure it's frustrating, but that's just the type of rare he is. He's completely unique in the aspect of the colour changing spawn, and that's all part of the camp.

But he spawns the most often in his brown skin. If I had seen him soawn in at least one other skin I would be fine, but three times in a row now he has spawn in brown.

Probably just bad luck in your case, I don't think any of the colours have a greater or lesser chance, it's all just random.

I have to admit, when hubby got his blue and then I lost a blue by seconds to a rogue, I had a feeling brown would be next and I was afraid I'd always resent it instead of taking his appearance as the gift that it is. I wanted the blue so bad it hurt!

Of course...it was indeed brown that showed. I couldn't imagine him any other way now, either. He's a total goofball and completely clicked with me.

Good luck getting the color you want!

To quote myself in a prior post:
If I'm reading this argument right, it's like King Mosh and a regular Tyrant Devilsaur. Sure, you can go and tame a plain old brown devilsaur. But why not when you can tame Mosh. Removing brown Madexx is like removing Mosh. Because after all, 30 ft away is that plain old brown devilsaur. Or Rak'shiri and Sian-Rotam. I could've gotten Sian's aqua skin. But I wanted Rak'shiri. I camped him. Having him turned black striped and forced to get crummy old Sian tore me to pieces. Utterly crushed me. I can't bring myself to play my hunter because that isn't MY Moonlight. He didn't face hordes of demons and undead with me. He's some newbie I picked up because Blizz messed with my poor kitty.

I never, ever, ever want someone to feel the way I did. Because it is a horrible, heart-wrenching feeling to know they are taking your pet and screwing with it. And then everyone tells you to go tame a new one, but you can't. Because that's not your pet.

That's the whole point of Madexx. I think it's a neat twist. With so many rares, you can just sit and voila-there it is at some point. But Madexx takes the luck element to the extreme.

So yeah. Leave as is.

Spawned again and guess what color he was BROWN, four times in a row now.

Just keep trying. Eventually he'll spawn in the colour you want.

Maybe, just maybe though... he's trying to tell you something.

Maybe you were destined to have the Bronze madexx. Thats what happened with me. He spawned 4 times in a row as Bronze. I finally took him home and hey! The other colors decided to grace me!

Except there is a difference between Mosh and regular tyrant models... or rather there was once - back around 3.0 Mosh was one of the toughest outdoor units in the game, for his level. So, taming him was a big deal.

Now granted since then he's been turned into fluff and no harder than the others, but I think he's still desired for his aura of once-upon-a-time-badassery.

Fast forward to present and compare brown Madexx vs brown scorpid, and there is neither difficulty nor aura. Outside of DIY RP backdrops, he is just another brown scorpy.

Not a huge deal - sooner or later we'll all get the color we want (right? right??), but it is (and I speak from experience) frustrating to camp him only to repeatedly get the mundane color.

Speaking of which, time for another visit to Uldum... ;)

I myself never understood the appeal of taming a rare that has a twin that's not rare in the same zone. It's the same color and the same skin. Each is own I guess. ;)

Some people just like rares even with a common counterpart. I grabbed the brown madexx because I was herbing and OMFG! She was waving her pincers! :D That said, it's all RNG. I've seen red more than brown myself. And green the most. Christmas Madexxes are my thing I guess.

Ohher example, then. Rak'shiri and Shy. Yes, Shy was once Horde only, but that was long ago. Yet when he was made black and white, people made a kerfluffle. (Including me, I won't lie.) Because some people don't want the common, they want the rare. Changing a rare because you have bad luck is silly. Besides, there's common black Madexxes now. If you ask me, there should be a common Madexx model for every color somewhere. Then maybe Bronze will get less hate. :p

But that's still not apples / apples, because that was a case of Blizzard taking existing tames, and changing their appearance.

Unlike Rak'shiri and Shy Rotam, the brown Madexx wasn't changed - they just added common versions to keep him company. :)

...aaannd I am now officially off the gripe list - just got a red Madexx. :D

EDIT: lol bronze. It's like saying "Tar-JAY" instead of Target. Brown Madexx is brown. :P

EDIT 2: I do feel your pain about having an existing tame changed on you, esp when the change involves taking something that was rare / unique and making it... not.

...

Pfft, brown. Instead of brown, red, green, blue and black, we shall have bronze, ruby, emerald, sapphire and ebony. Bwahahahaha. >:)

And yeah, good point, but there's still the general concept there. You can get two skins that are the same next to each other, just a question of "Do you want rare?" or not.
