New and Improved Skarr

Alright guys, recall what was said about them being to easy and something was going to get fixed? Well its true and they have.

With Skarr he was at a new spawn point. I am guessing its to make him easier to get to for hunters but man do I feel for people just trying to get across.. wonder if maybe having them in different sections would make it easier on everyone. He does a 70k barrage that hurts like a son of a.. and has a huge agro radius. He does range attacks now and hits harder the longer you chill with him.

The key with this guy now is attacking him then waiting until he starts casting barrage, then hit detterence and tame. The key is precise timing. As the barrage will stun you (like kirix) and two of them will kill you. And thats basically how I did it.. I made the mistake of starting off by hitting tame.. dead. Then detterence tame.. dead.

It seems he hits barrage when I hit tame, but that could have just been coincidence. I used tame beast, waited for barrage to cast, then hit detterence and hit tame. The barrage interrupts your tame if you dont have detterence up. So ill need more confirmation with this guys ^.^

I was kinda showing a fellow hunter how hard he hits, and kinda didnt expect to tame it since I died.. alot so.. I wasnt fully paying attention :lol:

it was like a wth.. moment you love in live :lol:

Blizzard really does watch these forums closely. That didn't take them long to change how you tame the cat.

Can't wait to see some non hunter try and kill him.. Would be pretty funny to see. Wonder how many hunters will die trying to tame him as well. I can see another hunter stealing the tame when the other hunter dies trying.

Hah, me either. I still get a hoot out of watching people try to splat Ghostcrawler. As a matter of fact, I love it when tamable rares can send some griefer across the land. >> Please bring more of this.

You guys are evil! :lol: I love it! The only thing which would suck is a group of people getting ticked off and just killing him. If hes still squishy.. well we will have to see. Still have time, and alot more testing to do with this guy ^.^

A little too many uknowns to pass good judgement right now. But needless to say hes alot of fun to tame!

I just took at look at the rocks in that location and it sure looks like some of them drop. x_x Will try to update with screenie in a couple.

Actually. It's not the rocks I thought they were. Now I understand the original post. These rocks are right next to Dante's area. Yeah, we've been standing around next to them for hours and didn't notice. x_x Depending on just how far his aggro range is, I think hopping up without aggroing could be safe if you keep to the left. (Good grief, and I thought Kirix was a roadblock....)

Pretty tightly packed, especially with questgivers a bit to the left. We'll have to see how this plays out - hopefully we'll get some spawns. :D

As a side note, there are a LOT more stepping stones in general:

There are more paths that don't seem to lead anywhere. Possible new spawn points? Unsure.

I think the rocks are closer to each other now, that I'm just getting good at jumping on them to get across.

He still spawns in the NE spot, it's kind of isolated.

Also, if you use the slipstream to jump to the island, you get an incredible 2 minute buff that increases your attack speed and haste by 100%, or lets you jump once for a nice height. You can abuse this buff to run down some of those stepping stones to get in range of Skarr to cast a super-fast Tame Beast (the crab too), or just cast from the island from the north spot. With Ancient Hysteria up he was tamed in literally 2 seconds.

Well its good he spawns all over for sure ^.^ I just found him at the one spot twice on two servers, and Karkin there as well so I wasnt to sure. If hes at that spot I am thinking you could probably tame him on the cliff like I did Karkin.

But thats a really good idea! Any haste will help a ton.

I'm still thinking self-corehound buff is going to be a big way to go with these two. It may be possible without, but why make it harder on yourself, y'know?
