So I have moderate hopes for this but fox is doing a new show called Terra Nova. Its basicly future earth is shot so they go back in time 65 million years to create...what looks like jurassic park, except instead of the fences keeping dinos in, its keeping them out.

That looks kind of cool. My biggest gripe about Lost was there was virtually no RAWR.

I saw the preview for this last night on OnDemand. It could either be really cool or really crap lol. Great story idea, I just hope the dinosaur cgi doesnt suck to much.

The T-Rex near the end looked good, so I think the CGI quality is decent... the open question now is whether there will be enough quantity. If I have to sit through 55 minutes of commercials, pretty people and catty conversation to get 5 minutes of stomp 'n chomp... eh.

I saw a brachiosaurus in the preview, and 65 million years back from where the people came from would put them in the Cretaceous.
Brachi is from Jurassic. I'll give it a shot, but I'm worried I'll end up mad that dinosaurs are alive that shouldn't be.

Well it could be an alternate past, e.g. similar but not the same.
That's how I'd do it if I was writing the backdrop.
Not only would it avoid scientific inaccuracies, it would also avoid the question of "if people are going back in time, wouldn't things start changing in the present a la 'Butterfly Effect'"...?

Wow, a show that I'm actually excited to see! I'm so disgusted with the state of television nowadays - all the same stupid, sex-driven comedies, crime shows and medical dramas. Lost was my favorite show in the entire world and I'm still heartbroken that it's gone. I haven't watched anything since, but this I will give a shot. I'm a huge dinosaur freak.

Ah! You don't like Crime Shows? I LOVE CSI: Miami and NY... And House, although that falls in your last category... But, to each their own, I guess... xD

Haha yha about that.....um its an alternate timeline....so alternate........theres dinosaurs that never existed
The Acceraptor, otherwise known as the Slasher is a species of dinosaur that is said to have colorful feathers, and have a tail so fast, also a blade on the tail, that can slice through materials as hard as metal. It will appear in the Pilot of Terra Nova. Jack Horner is involved in its creation.
Granted they are not being just willy nelly and randomly creating dinos. They did get a Dino specialist to help

Ah, alright. I knew the future was a big "what if," I didn't know they were um... altering the past before people can alter the past, I guess. x_x

I didn't get the sense that the events in the show were going to have any impact on the future / present, it just seemed like this was meant as a creative way to get moderns in a dino environment.
Although, being a series, they will probably figure out a way of going back through the portal at some point...

Spielberg... check.
Dinosaurs... check.
Sci-fi... check.
I'll be there!
and maybe it's like the new Star Trek reboot.. by changing the past, it creates an alternate timeline, which would not affect the future. a "new" future comes into existence from the simple fact that they went back in time.
