*sniffle* Chitter *sniffle* - EDIT: Got him!

Playing my little human hunter tonight in Redridge, I stumbled across Chitter! I was so pleased to see her and thought, hey, I have a spot open, I think I'll tame her! And then....and then....the bloody NPC paladin thing that kept following me around pops up and starts slashing away at her. No way to turn him off or stop his attack. I had to stand there helplessly watching him butcher poor little Chitter. It was terrible.

Hmm. I wonder if abandoning the quest would have despawned the unhelpful "helper"?

I had this same issue with the NPC mage when trying to tame one of those black foxes with my baby hunter. I abandoned the quest, switched zones, came back but the mage would still spawn once I got there. I ended up making the mage attack a gnoll first and then started the tame while he was busy.
Fun fact; the mage still spawns when I visit the area after I've gained 20 or so more levels.

Aha - so it's basically just a matter of "finding something useful" for them to do (far away, preferably) while you take care of business...

And now that I'm done with the quests and those idiot NPCs are leaving me alone, I'm not sure if I can find her again, cause that area is actually phased. This makes me very sad. Does anyone know if she's still around when you are done with the quests and her spawn point is a smoking hole in the ground? *cries over poor little spider*

Yep, was confirmed in the original Chitter thread that he sticks around after those quests.
He lived through the Cataclysm; he can survive a little explosion!
