Jadefang woes

For several days, I've logged in to check on this green gem of a bug. For a few days, I've left my hunter in place with NPC scan up, and with other things to do like Duke Nukem Forever (Very fun game if you're not a feminist, btw). Day 1, another hunter was there before me. I believe that even if someone was logged there, the guy who is standing there before you is first in line. No biggie, I just sat back and waited. Day two and three, same hunter, no luck. Day four, I'm the only one there for like three hours, but no Jadefang. Day five, a shadow priest is standing there, saying I have no right to interfere in them getting their minipet. Now, I didn't even say anything, and they go nuts on me. Now, they're still here, intent on preventing me from getting the pet. I even see them with the minipet already, so they have no reason to stay. Today, they're once again flaunting the pet, but remaining silent.

I already have and use a red Shale Spider, but I just want to use green to see how I like it. Can't test it if I got a jerk in the way, and GMs won't do anything cause they haven't directly griefed me yet. Apparently, saying they're going to kill it to prevent me from taming isn't griefing, but whatever. One day.

I would personally open a ticket that the priest is griefing you. I have Jadefang on my hunter and I love the shale spiders as a pet lvled from 83-85 with one.

Awwh. I think you should just ignore them and keep checking back every now and then? :/ Anyway, good luck with the tame!

I'd just keep trying. I saw several people in the time I was camping for mine - and they seemed to get bored and left within an hour. Just try and tag Jadefang before you tame, so at worst, you'll get a matching minipet.

Thats basicly how I got mine tags with a conussive shot started taming and it got killed on me. I was ticked but I did have the mini pet afterwards.

That would be a complete waist of time there is nothing ageist a person wanting to kill a rare spawn multiple times no matter what it drops or weather a person can tame it

Not always I've seen people get a 24 hour ban for greifing hunters in the past. A friend in the guild got banned for following a hunter on his patterns for 4 days and killing the rare spawn twice rather then let the hunter tame it.

My friend also didn't help himself when he said he was killing the rare just out of spite. But all I'm saying is that it's worth a shot, and it's still considered griefing. The other already has the mini pet he has no reason to kill the rare spawn expect to greif hutners who wish to tame him.

rare spawns have a better chance to drop rare items

No they don't not in Cata atleast not the tameable ones they drop nothing but a grey item. Jadefang is the only one that drops something.

acually thats not true Jadefang drops more then just the pet it may be junk but its more then the pet and there are people who just like hunters that want to tame it they want to kill it to say they killed it weather its 1 time or multiple times

No they drop nothing but grey items now and those people who kill them just to kill them more then once are greifers. Blizz didn't make them drop a rare item this time around just so hunters had a better chance to tame it.

Actually, Jadefang seems like any other rare. Check out the drops.

That said, I think they can stay there as long as they like, but as long as you tag it, then tame, and they kill it, it's griefing. Otherwise, nope. If it's not tagged as yours, then you're out of luck. So as long as you tag it first, you'll be fine. And if they kill it, ticket ahoy!

As Tank states, Cata rare beasts, except for Jadefang (and his only valuable item is a BoP minipet, which you use once), drop nothing but a gray vendorable. Killing a rare spawn beast over and over, with a hunter there trying to tame sounds like griefing to me. I'd still throw in a ticket if that happened to me, absolutly no reason to kill Jadefang over and over when you have the pet on the toon you plan on killing it on. Unfortunally, I think there is little they can do if that person tags it first. :( As for you Kika, good luck. Eventually you'll get your Jadefang, even if you have to wade through mean people.

I had someone try and play the "follow me everywhere I go" game one time while I was on my DK. When I noticed this, I decided to see just how serious he wanted to pester me, so I flew out of Orgrimmar and headed Southeast towards the ocean. Within a short time, I was in the fatigue zone, but I kept going as much as possible. When I had about 35% fatigue left, I cast Path of Frost, landed on the water (wasn't high up), and opened a Deathgate. I then used it and left the retard behind, then hearthed back. About 5 minutes later, said retard sent me an angry whisper about how I killed him and demanded money for his repair bill. I told him to **** off and that if he wanted to do stupid **** like follow me everywhere I go, he can live with the consequences.

Anyways, in your case, all you can do is open a ticket and hope the people camping Jadefang actually have the minipet. Otherwise, if just one of them doesn't have it, then all they have to say is they're helping their friend try and get it. Likewise, if one of their friends is a Hunter that doesn't have Jadefang, they can just say they're trying to help them with the tame. Now, if they start dropping the quest bomb in order to blow you off the ledge, that would easilly be griefing. After all, blowing you off the ledge can get you killed by hostile mobs.

I've seen people do that to my hunter too when I've camped rares in Sholazar Basin. I asked them why and most said they wanted to avoid their character going afk by having autofollow on. Now, I don't know if that is a lie (or if it even works) or not but none of them interrupted my tames at least. :D

Once I did the other way around on a DK in the Basin to check if he was botting to collect ores and herbs. Since seemingly he was ALWAYS online and always flew past me in the same angles when I was sitting on Loque spawns. Lo' and behold; he was.

I don't know if either of these could've been the case with you or if the person was really just messing around. *shrug*

I've had a mage (same one, several occasions) put me on autofollow for herbs... He just flew behind me while I did my circles looking for loque. He'd disappear, then reappear shortly after picking an herb... He was rather friendly though, so I didn't mind. xD

Yes if he does something for sure ticket him sadly until he does anything you cant do a thing. I hope that maybe he'll just go away and leave you alone but sadly some people are intent on just basically finding that one person who slightly ticks them off somehow then go all out to try and grief you.

Ive never had people autofollow me though.. thats pretty hilarious. Did you run them into trees and stuff?
