Hi! I'm new to these forums as far as posting goes, but I can't help but add my own story to the mix. It's kind of wordy, so heads up!

After hitting level 74 last night on my hunter, I quickly rushed to Grizzly Hills in hope of finding and taming my first Spirit Beast. I wasn't expecting Arcturis to be sitting there, waiting for me. Unfortunately, I was right. After settling down, I waited around for about an hour with my sound up in case he spawned and I didn't have WoW open. Around 3 in the morning, I was too tired and very little prepared, so I called it a night.

This morning I wake up (pretty late, too), eat some breakfast, and my cousin who plays comes over and suggests playing with me on his DK. I laugh because he hadn't played in forever and I was quite a few levels above him. He asks me to play another character in the meanwhile and I tell him my goal: to get my glowbear, even if I had to sit and wait for a day... or two. I show him a picture of him, then log in. I had logged out at Amberpine Lodge, so I fly down the cliff to his spawn point.

NPCscan blares at me. My heart pounds heavily as I land in front of a large ghost bear. I start yelling for my cousin to come see while fumbling to dismount, lay a trap, and tag him. Arcturis pounces and I tense. Bam, he turns into a huge chunk of bear ice! I quickly hit the tame button for what felt like the longest tame ever; then I see him free himself and shrink. I'm successful!

THIS JUST IN!: new hunter debuff when you excited about a tame the cast becomes twice as long!

seriously though Gratz on your glowbear. Any names in mind?

Haha, no kidding! It felt like forever and a day for some reason. Guess that's the magic of the rare tame.

As for names, since I have a feeling he was named after the star Arcturus, I was thinking along the lines of astronomical names. I haven't really picked one out yet, though, and suggestions are always helpful!

I would also post a picture, but I don't really know how... yay for being new?

If I had to suggest a name for your Arcturus, I'd have to venture the name 'Arktos', being the Greek name for 'bear', from which our word 'arctic' is derived (by reference with the constellation of the Greater Bear).

Yay congrats! I got him on my main hunter just on a flyby-I saw him and decided to tame him on a whim a long, long time ago.

I got him last week on my third hunter, Kitsuné, after a 13 hour camp. I ended up calling him Insomnia.

And to post a picture, you need to save it on a site like photobucket, copy the url and put it in the brackets provied for you when you click the grey "URL" button at the top of the message body when you select to post a new reply.

Aww grats, my bear is called Glowbear, he was called Artie to start off but in dungeons when I was with my hubby I was shouting OMG wheres ma Glowbear and the name stuck
