Pretty lucky!

I had very similar luck with taming Ghostcrawler, Aotona, and King Krush (those last 2 I actually found while searching for Loque, heh). No real camping.. just logged in and there they were!

I'm jealous about your Loque though! Still no luck on him for me!

Why would i hate you?

Believe it or not, but:

I found Arcturis when I was level 74. Logged off my char in Grizzly hills, logged in at 4am and he was there. Went to work, came back home, leveled a bit and went leveling in Sholazar Basin. When I've hit 76 I was flying around the Loque's spawn points every few minutes while questing. Got lucky, found him in one of the rounds and tamed just before a goblin priest tried to kill it (I was taming it and mid-tame he was casting mind blast on Loque... but he was already mine ).

Next 2 days I managed to tame Gondria, Skoll and Terropene (last one at level 82). Can't remember which day I tamed which though.

When I've finally hit level 85 (I was on a leveling streak, so was like 1-2 days later) I went to Vashj'ir like 5 minutes after I dinged just to find Ghostcrawler waiting for me.

After that, same day - I went to Twilight Highlands and as I was questing there, same as I did in Sholazar, I was looking through the Karoma's and Samba's spawn places every few quests/minutes. In one of the places I got a fake Karoma npc scan from a player. Then at another spawn place I got a Sambas, again, fake NPC scan. Some hunter was killing mobs with his Sambas at one of his spawn places - I got kinda sad, 'cause I was sure he just tamed it and trying it out. However, I still checked the other spawn places and 2 spawn places later I found Sambas with my /target macro (I use both NPC scan and macros just in case it gets cached). Froze it, tamed it. Just makes me wonder now what was that hunter doing there in the other spawn place.. Don't even wanna know.

Checked for Karoma, but he/she wasnt there. I got tired of questing so i took like a 2-3 hour nap. I came back, checked Karoma spawn places, and I found him! Again, tamed. That way I got 3 rares in the same day, as I've hit level 85.

Next 3-4 days I managed to get both Jadefang and the mini pet he drops. Still no luck with Madexx though. I'm looking for King Krush once in a while as well, but didn't see him either. I managed to tame Aotona however.

Another fun fact is that I got white hawkstrider after 2 MgT runs with that character as well.

To my.. umm.. excuse - It's already been a few months into cataclysm, so I guess those pretty rares aren't farmed as much anymore, or perhaps rare pets just like me ^^ Realm is Emerald Dream EU

Oh, and there are these guys...

I find the check periodically method much easier and far less infuriating than the camping method. Most hunters will camp the new rares forever then give up. Patient hunters that wait for the excitement to die out, and then simply check periodically win out.

It is! That's how I found King Krush, and all them. I simply would randomly check there spawn sites and sure enough I got them one bye on.

grats, much easier to get northrend rares now that everyone is more focused on the cata rares. plus there's much less traffic up there, so the rares live longer.

Hehe.. very nice! Can't wait to get more levels so I can work on other rares =) And yeah, doing it that was was much less frustrating... a lot of times i would just hover over a spawn point then websurf on the other monitor.

Sholazar always seems to have some 85 hunters (and other classes perhaps going for achiev) on my realm throughout the day. I often check /who sholazar because I still want King Krush in my collection, but if there's 2-3 85s I usually don't bother checking.

Congrats! I've gotten a lot of the same luck as well: Gondria, Arcturis, Skoll, Karoma and Sambas in two hours time.
