I had him tamed but abandoned him for lack of space
now I want him back but it doesn't seem to work anymore...
has blizz actually fixed this or am I just failing too hard?


I just tamed him with the sword intact, the /PetAbandon thing doesn't seem to work anymore but the one where you have to kill him and spam revive pet and all still works

Last I heard, he might still be tameable with the pet resurrection method. I just know the petabandon method doesn't seem to be working now

According to this thread, the Pet_Abandon macro isn't working right now. I'm not sure if it will get 'fixed' or if this was a fix, but it doesn't work. The Pet res (as stated above) may still work, but I'm not sure. I never had much interest in any of these pets anyways, so it doesn't affect me too much.

This also wouldn't be the first time Blizzard has said that a special taming method would stay in-game, only to have it removed shortly later.

indeed, I have been trying it with the petAbandon and it doesn't work
I got a rogue buddy to help me get it with the killing method but I've had no luck yet, though he said it was spot on from time to time...
I sure hope they didn't remove it, the swordwolfie is a pretty one I'm such a twat for abandoning it, caus I thought I could always get it back --"

Yea, for now I'm not going to abandon any of my aura'd pets because I'm not sure if/when they'll close down all of the taming methods for them

I got rid of a special buff pet and got it back after a long time

EDIT: I opened a ticket about it and they said they restored the pet and I was uber-excited!

they restored it, but without the sword sadly /cry

If I remember right someone in the petiopa guild got the blue glowing bird restored and it had it glow. (It was abandoned for KK) No clue where that thread is.

Is this still true? Pet Abandon thing still not working? I just saw a hunter with the ghost wolf and was intrigued and discovered the trick. Came here to check and was saddened by this! I'll be sad if I missed my oppurtunity!

Could you go into detail about the revive pet technique? You did say that it was still working, right?

Also, anybody know if the Chasm Stalker's aura is capable of being retained by this technique? Someone had told me that it had a special aura.

Basically kill the pet the moment you tame it (either with serpent sting or immo trap dot or with a high level friend helping you) and spam revive at end of tame cast. If you have no dead corpse or pet by you, relog and call/revive your new pet with a special buff. Will only work with beasts that keep their buffs after death.

about 5h here triyng tame the lone hunter with the sword, and nothing... can anyone confirm if it's still possible to do it using this kill/revive thing, please?

today I took the day to tame this "special" beasts lol.
got so far: lone hunter "with the sword", flaming boar, oil wolf, oil bird and icepaw bear.

I need a list of the beasts left lol.

Woo the last update was cool because of the new pet and its ability and also I got the new sword.

So wait, does this still work then? I tamed this guy awhile back with the sword but was stupid and abandoned for space when space was hard to come by.

I thought they hotfixed a lot of the special pets (though the rumor is with 6.0 we'll be getting some back?)
