Dog's Reunion With Her Family

Just had an interesting evening. I was walking Sasha(my boxer/chihuahua mix) as I always do when I saw two dogs wandering near a house. One was a rottie. I've seen him before, big dog so I knew he belonged to that house. The other was a lovely brown, short-haired dog. Didn't recognize her. Course my dog is going nuts but I just walk by, not thinking much of it. I come back around heading home and the brown dog comes outta no where and runs up to us. It was a female but she didn't growl or anything. She was wagging her tail, just friendly as could be and curious about Sasha.
Despite my attempts to tell her to go home, she followed. Feeling terrible for her and knowing how bad the mosquitos are, I get my mom and we approach her. We called to her and she ran right over, sniffing, letting us pet her. Oh she was just loving up on us. We brought her inside and dried her off. She was wet from the rain earlier today. We decided to look up the animal shelters but I just had a feeling....not to do that.
I convinced my mom to go with me, down the direction where I had found her. Sure enough, not minutes after we headed east of my house, I saw two people at the Rottie's house, calling a name. Couldn't quite make it out but the brown dog responded. Ears perked, trying to run over there. Course I had her on a leash so the running wasn't happening...Lol. I think she was walking me more than I was walking her. I waved my arms at the neighbors.
Sure enough, they saw me and ran over to us. They were so relieved she was okay and thankful we had found her. Her name is Mocha, apparently and we got to talking so I think we're friends with them now. Mocha's so sweet. I hope to see her again sometime on better circumstances. Apparently the hubby mowed the lawn and left the gate open and the dogs got out. Oi vey....hope they kick him in the butt for that.
Either way, I feel good to reunite a broken up family, even if they were only apart for a little while. I know if Sasha ever got lost, even for an hour, I'd be scared shitless and frantic to find her.
