So I've been trying to think of some new abilties for the current pet families and even hydras, for my own purposes. I realized though that I don't know much about the wow specific families.

Take for example Nether Rays. I know they live on the fringes of Outland and assumed they were from the twisting nether. Beyond that, I know they have an interupt for an ability but I don't know why they would.

Anyone care to fill me in on some of the more alien species we have? Specifically: Core Hounds, Dragonhawks, Nether Rays, Ravagers, Silithids, Sporebats, Warp Stalkers and Wind Serpents.

Couple other weird ones being Chimeras and Shalespiders but I think I know enough about them.

In the mean time i'll be search wowpedia and stuff like that, but I just wanted to see how you, the pet people would describe them.

I hate to disappoint, but there really isn't much lore behind pet skills. Blizzard decided that hunters should be the jack-of-all-trades class when it came to raid buffs, so they copied other classes' abilities and stuck them on whichever pet species seemed to fit.

I know that, that's why I was trying to do a better job.
