I'm so sorry if this has been answered somewhere else, but I looked through the other spawn info threads and such and didn't see this particular question addressed...

Do Magria and Ankha tend to alternate spawns.. Mag/Ank/Mag/Ank etc... or is it totally random, you could get 5 Mags and then 7 Anks in a row?

This suddenly became important because after being lucky enough to nab Magria early yesterday afternoon, I stayed up all night camping for Ankha, only to have her spawn and be tamed by someone else in the 5 mins that I took a bio break this morning. >.<

So I'm wondering if I need to start camping again in 6 hours 'cause it could be either Mags/Ank, or if I'm safe to wait longer since the next one will be Magria and I already have her. I could really use the sleep, LOL.

I'm GUESSING that it's totally random which cat spawns.. and yet I have my fingers crossed that someone will tell me "Well I've never seen the same cat spawn back-to-back on the PTR, they seem to switch off." Heh. Even if it's "Yes, I've seen 5 Magrias spawn in a row" at least that will answer my question and mean that my upcoming suffering is not totally in vain.

Anyone with solid infos on this, thank you so so much in advance.

Honestly the petopians were more concerned with the spider on the ptr. So this was never comfirmed or denied. Yes they do share spawn timers so get some rest in those 6 hours. Other then that GOOD LUCK! I'm waiting for either one to spawn.

I would invite anyone with any info/"research" that might shed some light on this question to post here, then.

On Malfurion, Magria spawned first at 8:40 pm server, then Ankha was next 14 hours later (I'm about 95% sure I did not miss a spawn based on the times I was camping, which was close to continuously). I missed taming Ankha, so I am now waiting to see which kitty will spawn next.. will post results if I get them.

Anyone else who is camping hard and knows with reasonable certainty whether your server seems to be spawning Magria-Ankha-Magria-Anka-etc. in order, or whether it's random Magria-Magria-Magria for example, please let us know.

It's totally random. We did have an eye out. It's a coin toss.

So far on Fm it's been alternating, but until I hear of 3 or more confirmed tames, I'm not counting it.

Well, having lost my tame of Magria on Moon Guard US an hour ago, I'll be sitting there again at 10 my time; I'll post what happens then...

Anhka has spawned now 3 times in a row on Uldum - also of note - spawn times have been exact - on the hour or half hour.
hope this helps somewhat - i think also that the cats (SB) always spawn at bottom of slope (westerly most spawn point if your looking at wowhead) from where firelands portal thingy is for initial questline intro to dailies. GL all!!

A Nelf hunter and myself have been camping for over 14 hrs now, she has a shammy she hops on every once in a while to share info, so far no sightings since 8:20 am

It looks like it is random. Two Ankha tames, one Magria yesterday and Today.

Well, I'm pretty sure that Fate is mocking me for posting this question.

I have now found 4 (edit: 5) wild Magrias, back-to-back--one for me, and one for each of my three bestest hunter friends. =/ (edit: and one stranger hunter, since I ran out of friends to tame her and nobody was camping the area).

Soooo, yes. Not that there was really any doubt based on previous comments, but I can safely say that I've answered my own question, and random spirit cat is random.

Random as far as I can tell yeah, there's been at least three Ankha in a row here.
