I submitted a comment (on wowhead) yesterday on how I tamed banny but yet I still get down rated? Using a cloak/trinket with some sort of slow fall is easy and better then sitting on an already hard to get on tree. Guess some people fail at timing it right I guess.

I have not looked at it in wowhead, but from what you have written here-

you were likely downrated because you provided no new info (slowfall is a known method, but not everyone has access) and basically came off as a "Yay, i tamed it" post. Unfortunately, that will get you downrated every time. Now, if there had been some old quest that awarded a potion of slowfall, or a slowfall buff food that you reminded people about, that would likely have gotten you ranked up.

This is true. If your method was new then you didn't deserve to be downrated. But if it had been mentioned earlier then it may be quickly downrated by people simple trying to clear the glut of "me too" posts.
