Every hunter on my server, on both sides, is complaining about other classes killing the rares before they can be tamed. They dont count for any quest, achievement or drop any loot. Whats the deal? I demand a 5min respawn timer and ban on all other classes day.

No idea. :/ It's happening on FM. I think they drop a tear or something. I'm sad because the paladin died just as he killed Anthriss (Noooo Anthriss hold on just a little more!). It apparently is happening a lot across all servers. People are killing them for trophies or to mess with hunters I guess.

Same on my saver Runetotem EU, the litteraly rape Banny every spawn but mine

Lost skarr and the spirit bird. Good lord. Reporting everyone of them for griefing

I think people just see the fancy silver dragon and shamble towards it in a daze...

"OooOOoohhh prreettttyyyyyy... muuust ... kiiillll ..."

I suspect that's part of it. People want firsts, etc. 5-6 hunters and myself were like NOOOOOOOO. TAME IN PROGRE-- while the paladin bolted up on his mount and killed it. I think he was just being a buttclarinet. :/ Especially when he laughed at us.

I genuinely suspect some people just hate hunters, others are trophy hunters, others are just unable to stand the thought of someone else having a shiny.

The biggest problem I saw was actually from Hunters. There were four ally hunters and two horde hunters "working together" to get Deth down enough to tame and the second that buff was gone all hell broke loose. The one Horde hunter gave up, which was sad because he was the one that got there first and spent about 10 minutes working on his health until the next hunters showed up. Then all the Hunters were trying their damnedest to get the things attention long enough to tame it and then, bam. Dead.

I honestly think Blizz thinks too much of their player base sometimes. A pet that required a good chunk of time to get to the point were you can tame it, giving griefers and other hunters a good window of time to screw it up for you? Yeah, that was totally going to end well.

This is all one big experiment, Feath3r. I'm sure such terrible incidents will factor into the design of (hopeful) future challenge tames.

The Molten Front/Regrowth is going to be crazy for a couple of months. After that it should start to calm down.

There are certain people going out of their way to kill the rares on my server too =(

I hope so, because after that little song and dance I don't think I'll be trying for Deth. I really like his colors, but if the community is going to react like that, then I want no part of it. I'll just get one of the plentiful yellow ones, or keep spamming tame pet at those elemental fire hounds, lol.

Just got Deth today...had another hunter camping on top of me, but they went afk-offline fight before he spawned so I got lucky there. But the entire time I was camping, there were constantly people coming to where Deth spawned, and most weren't hunters...had several sit near where Deth spawned like they wanted to kill it. I happened to have gotten lucky there was a lull in the players when Deth spawned and got him and tamed him before anyone showed up (which was like 10 sec later). When I would eagle eye other areas for rares, I would see several people camping the Skarr area, including hunters and other classes...right on top of each other...I mean, really? Come on people...pretty sad...

Tho I did get some satisfaction at seeing all the skeletons around where the green spider spawns...

When I was taming my deth a pally walked up to me and asked if I wanted help killing it. I said no I wanted to tame him and asked if he wanted to help me. He said no thanks I just want to kill him. I told him he does not drop anything and does not give an achiev, he told me he knew that but just wanted to kill him because he wanted to see if he could do it.

Yeah, I don't blame you. :/ And besides, the yellow ones are underrated!

Similar thing happened on AD tonight. There was a druid, who only just managed to kill her (Anthriss) as he himself fell down to his face. Anny's one of the spiders I don't expect to see alive from now on. o.o I'm not entirely sure what thrives people to kill these rares, but I guess they just want the challenge and prove that they can do it.

I kind of consider this a valid reason for camping them(you all can start booing me now), but not this early in the patch. I know people who question the 'unkillable'/'unsoloable' statuses of a lot of the pets, and I would consider it a decent idea if there weren't hunters already out there. Competing with people to kill a mob so many people want to tame right at the beginning of the patch is just kind of in bad taste. Remember, while these are challenging tames, they can also be challenging kills for the non-hunter crowd, so there will be people with an interest in killing a rare just to see if they can do it. I for one plan on waiting a loooong time before I even consider trying, though, there are just too many people out there to tame and I have no intentions of ruining someone's day. :/


That said, a lot of it might stem from the attention hunters are getting right now and in the past few patches. This'll be the only time I'll point it out here, but we do get most, if not all of what we ask for - the other classes aren't always as lucky, and they are painfully aware of such.

So, in short, the only thing I can suggest is to either a)remove yourself from the problem area until hype dies down or b)treat others the way you want to be treated, but keep an /ignore macro handy and wowjackass open in a tab.

Oh I know you're probably right. Jealousy is a horrible thing. I'm going to be polite to others, and chug away at it. I'd like a banana spider or Skitterflame. Thankfully neither of the two are the most popular. It's just bad Anthriss spawns right in the middle of the road. x_x

My heart goes out to those on more populated servers. :/ Do what you can to keep your sanity, even if it means waiting.

I broke down last night and got atop Banny's tree. Yes, I said I like Olm better, but....you guys understand the want. I refuse the cats, just because I adore my Gondria that much more. She was my first spirit beast and these two recolors just pale in comparison to her.

..But....Even on my server, which is only a medium pop server, I've had people hanging around the sanctuary for no reason at all. Mages, Paladins, Preists, Druids....just...sitting. I can only guess they are waiting on Ban'th to spawn so that they can drop him to the ground. :/ I even got /rofl at earlier by a class other then hunter for sitting on the tree and hovered around several times by other hunters who almost looked like they were going to stack on me.
