I finally tamed Skarr yesterday evening, I was very very lucky !

After my dailies, I can enter the Molten Front. Have a quick look on the map to find the kitty's location. Well, it is very close from the entrance, nice There is only a huuuuuge wall of fire. No problem with a flying mount : take the gryphon, hit space bar and... nothing ?!? Damnit ?!
1st surprise : we cannot use the flying mounts in the Molten Front. Anyway, let's take a horse and run as quick as possible inside the flames...
2nd surprise : I have to play as a marshmallow and die twice to get to the other side. Anyway, I have some gold to repair...
3rd surprise : a tauren huntress is already there Anyway, maybe I wil be lucky, maybe I will see Skarr before she tames...

1 hour later, I noticed a red point on my map, an animal called "Bal'afr". "Balafre" ? It's the word in French to say "scar"... OMG YES !!! Soooo...
1° jump on the nearest rock (I almost fell from the rock lol)
2° hit tame beast
3° Skarr begins to cast his barrage
4° Silencing shot
5° Tame again
6° Enjoy !!!

congrats! I had to do the whole death thing a couple times to get out there as well. I think there actually might be a path somewhere, but I didnt find it.

How do you jump to a rock though? They seem sort of....far

Some of the rocks break down and respawn after a short period of time. You need to use those rocks to get further up.
Also.. You really don't want to be standing anywhere near those two mobs when someone is taming them (unless you're helping out with silencing shot o.o; ). There were about 7 people up at the rocks earlier today just watching when a fellow petopian tamed his Karkin. He very gleefully wiped everyone out with his barrage.

Oh I wish you would have some screenshots of that. Sounds awesome
