What is the best way to tame these ? Also, does a Prismatic Elixir help ? I found Karkin, basically pulled him with Silencing Shot, drank a speed pot, Detterence and hit tame, and it was too slow and I died. Then someone killed him.

The method I used was: Hit tame (or hit the beast a few times with arcane shot or else to prevent theft) and wait for barrage, hit silencing shot, Deterrance and then Tame. Also, Karkin (not sure if Skarr does too) seems to cast "normal" single target fireballs as well (They seem to add some kind of buff on the beast that increases their casting speed. And the barrage hits everyone in the area. Found that out the hard way with 7 other people. XD )

erwils way is how i did it as well, pulled with arcane, waited for him to cast fireball hit trink pot when he first started cast then ss, deter and tame

is barrage the only spell he casts or you have to actually start to tame to get him to cast a specific spell? cause' I was gonna use kings, prismatic, speed elixir, then start tame, silence, re-tame with a speed pot & deterrence.

They cast two spells from what I've seen. Fireball, a single target spell that also gives them a haste buff. And the barrage, that hits everyone nearby for crap loads of damage and also interrupts any spell casts (like tame beast).

All I did yesterday for Karkin was pop a SS, then tame. I sat way on the ledge near his rock. I think he only got one hit off on me.

After taming Karkin recently, I found out that it is completely random when and how often he casts the barrage. I think I stood there waiting for a barrage to interrupt, for 7 fire balls. Needless to say, I didn't think of taming it, and died. After that, I just started taming, and his second cast was barrage. It went smooth. I think I needed the practice so I can pull of taming Skarr perfectly.

Prismatic Elixirs work great for Kirix if you want to tame in a hurry/can't be arsed to rock jump and evade bug it. You'll live at least another tick of his aura, which is should be enough to finish the tame with a little haste (I usually run around with 8-10%) or some pvp gear if you roll with that.

As MM me and my guildies and a friend have been using the following strat:

Chimera Shot to pull
Silencing Shot the first cast
Readiness
Silencing Shot the next cast
Deterrence
Tame

His Fireball and the other spell (can never remember the name) seem to be in different schools and he seems to always do a fireball first (which will hit for A LOT).
