Short story time: Elffy and I have met a few nice folks, or so we thought, who were going to help us out in taming the new rares we look forward to. I would help them by not getting close and ruining a tame again for Skarr, and they'd help out on Karkin for me. I was the only one there who even said anything about Karkin, as everyone else is fixated on Skarr. To each their own. Elffy and I had actually been talking to them ever since I got Deth tamed, as we've been sitting around the spawn points for these two since then.

Short rant time: Karkin spawned, and he's the last pet I want from Molten Front. I rush over there, and soon as I get ready, one of the hunters tags and starts taming, but stops. Not killed, just stops taming. Hands shaking, I try my hand at the tame. I do my silence shot, and I begin taming. 2 seconds left, I had injured Karkin enough that threat wasn't an issue. Then, the guy doesn't help me, I die from a crit fireball, and I have to run all the way from Widow's Clutch (stupid.) Elffy informs me that the same guy who said he'd help me takes it for his own.

Now, normally I don't get upset over video games. I just say "dammit" and keep waiting. However, this was the last pet I wanted. The only one left I had any interest in. I was so infuriated that I cut my hand from clenching my fist so hard. I know the Molten Front is full of jerks and morons, but this is a whole 'nother level; Friends betraying friends. What's worse is that after doing it, he tries to say he didn't see everyone telling him to stop. A valid excuse if you don't have chat bubbles active, but still.


Again, I don't know if this qualifies as a tame story. After all, I didn't tame it >:(. If it is, please move it to the appropriate subforum!

It is a valid "venting about jerks" story.

Dude...I just tried 6 times to tame Solix just now. Some other hunter was popping on and off...and she left before he spawned. Whispered me a few times....I tried to be nice. But Im camping. I WANT THIS SPIDER.

Solix spawns, Im on try 2 to tame. She logs in. IN THE RUNE. Staring him RIGHT in the face. Im dropping a trap/CS, and screwing up bad. Shes got me nervous.

As Im running back AGAIN..she asks if she can try...I said sure, whatever.

She kited him, got the buff down, and LET HIS ENERGY EMPTY. I watched helplessly as my beautiful orange spider flipped over dead.

I seriously cried.

I'm all for "If you die it's fair game"...

But when you tell someone something is theirs, wait til they die, and take it, that's just cruel.

Let's take 2 strangers; My bf and an orc hunter were taking turns with the yellow rare (name... forget!). One would die, the other would try, the one who died would run back and wait patiently - mutual understanding.They were totally cool waiting for the other to try; bf got SO close, but he had to go pick up his brother, only got 5 or 6 tries. Bt there was no sabatoging, etc. It was amazing to see. I hung around watching and the orc finally got it. He was stoked, told me to thank my BF for not being a jerk.

That just aint right. I made friends with a horde hunter, though I'm on alliance. We both want Skarr. I also want Karkin. I asked if it would be okay if she should die, if I could have a crack at the tame. She said yes and I agreed vice versa. She's very sweet and we both had Skarr taken from us by rude hordies that stole aggro or whatever.

How was the guy suposed to help you? all he can do is watch. And bother enemy players if they are beeing jerks.

personaly. i dont get upset if i die during the tame(if the beast kills me) and someone else, waiting patiently tries their turn, and i dont see a reason to get upset.
You had your chance, it dident go right. Other hunter there is free to try.
However thats just how i see it.
Sucks they saied they dident really care much for Karkin and wasent gonna bother, but minds change

Im sorry you lost you pet, but remember there will be another Karkin up sometime later

Agreement or not you died and couldn't pull off the tame. Regardless of agreement when you die some consider that their part of the agreement is now null and void. You may have camped longer but you failed to pull off the tame so another hunter claimed it. It will respawn.

I'm you lost him. But he'll be back.

Also please remove ALL names from your post Kikanu. Petopia has a "No naming, no shaming" rule.

I think the problem they have is that they had an agreement where they each would only tame the one, which I agree is BS.
I had a similar agreement once, Skarr spawned and I helped with the tame by interrupting a cast while they tamed just to make it easier.

This is why I'm so not camping out there for a while.. that quest zone is nuts.

"Sure, you can has!" /doesn't help. /watches hunter die. /tame.

That's like setting someone in a trap, lol.
