I really hate to ask and Ive spent a while searching for the answer and I couldnt find it so here goes.

How do you update wmv for each patch?
Like I want to add Kirix to my sig and Ive gotten new gear since the patch dropped and none of it is in the current wmv I have.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

(And if this is a repeat topic Im really sorry. Same with if its posted in the wrong place)

And now this has kind of turned into a help everyone thread :)

Make sure you have WoW Model Viewer revision 582.

The Model for Kirix is under Creature > Firespider > firespider.m2, then just select the FireSpider_green in the animation pane.

I've got a question about the 582 (Couldn't find an answer from the forums. If there is a thread considering this, I'd love it if someone could point me to it). It's not letting me save sized screenshots bigger than 1024 width. It resets the size back to 926x494 whenever I try. =/ In the previous versions it was never a problem, but what do I need to do to be able to save images bigger than the set height/width?

Whenever I try to save screenshots of something with this, I get... pretty much nothing, just transparent ghosty images of the spider's legs and butt. :c

You are probably taking .png images instead of .bmp

Make sure you choose .bmp from the drop down. I'll make a tutorial a little later for combining the .png and .bmp images to preserve the semi transparent flames, etc.

ATM I'm redownloading and installing WoW, so it'll be a little bit.

So... I downloaded the most recent 4.3 PTR build and my WMV stopped working for the PTR. Is there another one I should download? =/ Its pretty much telling me to update World of Warcraft. x.x

Hmm. Not sure. Mine is working fine but I have the most recent one released earlier this month. I haven't updated the PTR since it first came out, though.

That's the one I downloaded. I always just grab the most recent PC one they have.

Please help.

I've tried just about every version.
All the character and creature skins? Bugged. Just a bunch of dodgy skin and faces.
I do not -want- dodgy skin and faces.
All the items work ...
Yet the creature / char skins are terrible.
This has happened for AGES now.
Help me.

What do you mean by terrible?

If the models are showing weird artefacts like moving "spikes" of colours and stuff, it could be the graphics setting. In the model control window (which you can open from one of the menus) ensure that your quality is set to the lowest not the highest. I find if I ever set it to high it really goes nuts.

Oh that looks weird! I've never seen that. Maybe try (in WMV) going to Options -> Settings, click on the Display tab and try adjusting some of the settings, such as the display mode.

When you try new versions do you copy or install them to the same old folder? In which case you may be retaining your user settings between versions and perhaps one of them is corrupted. Try deleting your "userSettings" folder from within your WMV program folder.

My only other suggestion would be to select a model (any one) then do: View -> Show Model Control . A model control window will pop up. The 2nd pull-down menu from the top (labelled "View") will allow you to set your graphics to Worst or Best. I find it always has to be set to Worst. Even with a decent graphics card, the "Best" setting seems to do freakish, animated things to the model.

It didn't work. Nothing. I tried everything and to no avail did it work. *sigh* Thanks for the help though.

It might be some graphic card weirdness... though don't ask me for any more explanations. All I know is graphic card bugs can create bugs looking like this.

Something ive been finding odd.. when im fooling around with the worgen females animations (havent checked the males, nor goblins either since they were released at the same time), theres a second set of arms that waves and dangles in weird ways in a handful of the animations, freaked me out at first and then just started to be annoying
