Skarr and Karkin tames

I read on the various threads at Wowhead about taming these suckers, and they recommend using silencing shot (MM) to keep that Pyroclast Barragel at bay.

Is it possible that, with these two beasts here, a Wyvern Sting (Surv) could put the target to sleep and make it easier to tame?

I know I can take ordinary pets, Wyvern Sting them to sleep then tame, I wonder if anyone knows if it applies here.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Wyvern sting is another hunter CC, so I'd imagine that it doesn't work on Skarr/Karkin, since traps no longer do.

Good thinking, though! Good luck with your tame. :)

Wyvern Sting does not work. Nor do Intimidation or Freezing Trap.
You have to either use a core hound's lava breath and heroism to tame them before they cast it or start taming to make them cast, then interrupt it and return to taming.

Good luck ^.^

DEUCE!!! Ah well, worth a try anyways...

Guess I may have to go marksman just for the silencing shot... *shutter*

Yeah heaven forbid I be able to click 2 buttons and launce a freezing trap. But let a marksman press a single silencing shot and that's fine must be more of a challenge...

Can't freeze these guys. Immune. And besides, they're a lot more challenging for me. xD I had a heck of a time taming Skarr.

It's actually not this simple. You have to time it properly or you'll still get owned by the barrage. Plenty of marks hunters are failing these tames. >_<
