So while talkign with Worba, kinda agreed with him about rewording this better so that noone gets offended. Its not set rules, its mostly just something to think about while camping/doing dailies. And a list I compiled reading the forums while sitting back and camping. So here they are

1. Please do not steal. You see someone trying to tame it, please be kind and let them tame it. It starts a cycle of ping pong taming which more often then not ends up the rare is dead. Especially if they are in the process of taming it.

2. Please do not kill.. Seriously, do not kill the rare. It makes you look very bad. It will start a cycle of people killing or a tame war because someone killed a rare and bad things happen to you. So dont be mean and interfere with the tame, it'll spawn again for you and you'll have a hunter friend on your side. (more spiders for deth, more SS for skarr/karkin etc.. more eyes watching for you.. its win-win)

3. Please do not turn into a seagull and start saying "MINE MINE MINE". (points if you get that) Ok this is for those hunters who think they own and are entitled to the rares. You are not. Noone deserves the rare less then you, especially if you have it already (see #4)

4.Please remember there is no such thing as a special snowflake. Lets face it, yes you got a cool rare but even if you tried to kill the rare every time its up someone will get it. You will get a bad rep. And then the hunters will have parties around you with their own special "snowflake". Be nice and share. If you really like your pet so much its better to instead help others get that rare and have that same kind of affection for the rare, then to kill it on them while they have been looking so hard for it.

5. Please do not stack. Ok no I am not saying people own a spot, but stacking right on the person ie: right on them. Dancing naked is quite traumatizing.. knock it off or ill hit skarr first just to see you die. Its better to have a mutal agreement on taking turns on with skarr/karkin magria/ankha who wants what. And making friends is always a good idea. Then a tame war where karkin kills everyone and its.. just messy.

6. Please do share factionwise. Yes, even if the hunter is of a different faction. Griefing is still griefing and just because he is short,stocky dwarf.. doesnt mean that you the slim figured BE should mess him up just because of faction. Peace not war! Leave PVP to the PVP zones or if your on a pvp zone... once the rare is tame by all means you can kill the person, after it is tamed. Just while they are taming, please be nice.

7. Please be mindful of campers and npcscanner. Ok no I am not saying you cant have your pet out, but if you know your in a spawn point or area just be kind enough to dismiss it. And please do not trip up scanners on purpose to see someone jump. I know some people like to show that they arent there camping it but still it gives a heart attack. And makes for having to delete cache and did I mention the heart attack. Though I know you love that Magria you just got if you could use something else while doing the regrowth dailies that would be great! I know people like to show off the special pets they have just be mindful of the area you do it in.

8. Please help others if they ask. If someone asks for help, give it to them. Yes its a rare you want, yes they should have atleast somewhat read the strats but we all know through the constant "why did skitter just die, his health was at full!" "solix keeps beating me, back peddling doesnt work" "why is the gem statue thingy on the rock thingy keep killing me when I hit tame" and the ever so constant "shut up fool I know what I am doing!" then you watched them die 5 times in a row cause they are trying to straight up kite deth. Though it is hilarious a little knowledge helps. Especially if you have that rare already its nice to help out someone. If you dont you can always take turns and even if he gets it knowing you did a good deed and one less camper is nice enough.

9. Please be mindful about saying in general a rare is up. By doing so, raids start forming, other classes start salvating at the pretty silver dragon. The whole whispers of it drops epics, to die 5 times rack up a 100g+ repair bill then go.. "hmm it only drops 25g.. thats lame" and dude its not lame. I just told you it dropped 25g.. read please. And the whole "its an epic kill" no.. not really, read the forums weve been killing them for ages its taming them thats the problem. So reroll hunter and tame for the actual challenge It depends on your server really, some people just ignore while others not so much.

10.Please.. please listen to hunter who is giving directions. For the love of all that is good when I type in chat TAME, hit TAME. I am not saying it for the fun and thrill of it or the great joys it brings me in life. I am saying it so that you can tame the rare and either a: not die or b:not kill it.


for any other classes heres the golden rule.

"if a hunter is trying to tame, killing it while hunter is taming is cruel".
Please be kind and rewind.

I mean please dont kill the thing this person has been camping 12 straight hours for, for nothing. Sit back and enjoy the show. Believe me its more fun to watch them die many times for not knowing the strats, I mean sucessfully get their rare then the grief you just gave.

So Worba thought it would be a good idea to have these up for discussions which I agree, what do you guys think and is there anything you would like to add as well? Lets keep it friendly to please. I dont want to see people yelling at each other.. oh and please dont feed the trolls

One fix, though.
You have "Thou of other faction should get the rare to". It should "Thou shalt let those of the other faction get the rare, too."

But but... the announce in General... erm... I just rehomed Magria that way... I have the pretty blue kitty, was waiting (and waiting, and waiting) for Ankha, and Magria spawned; why not announce in general--the lovely woman who got Magria was so very glad I did.

Depends on your realm, really, and your judgment of your same-faction hunters. On my realm, same-faction are generally pretty polite and decent, in my experience. If the people in your faction are jerks who will try and ruin things for the hunters, don't announce in general.

I announced Skarr after I failed to tame it once, feeling it decent to let others have a try who'd informed me in turn that other stuff was up.

Ive had someone say anthriss is up and then the next few mins everyone was there. Very nerve wrecking for the hunter trying to tame it. Anthriss got killed While with deth.. noone cared I usually whisper hunters

It's funny, on my server, if you say something about a rare in General, NO ONE CARES. I've told in general about taming rares, or rares being up, and I never, EVER get a response. Most of the time I either sit there staring at the beast for a while, or decide to tame it myself.

It's hard to rehome pets when no-one listens.

yah I think it depends on the server and who is on. Sometimes you'll get no trouble at all, other times..

yeah on helping its hard too cause i was helping someone, he then decided to cuss me out tell me to leave hyjal and cuss somemore and emote spam me * was on real id* he was ally and had his guildies emote spam me to, then he tried to get me to help him on hoe to tame a rare in all caps...

i think there are some exceptions xD other then that i give it a thumbs up

Every time Ban'thalos spawns on Shadow Council, and entire FLOCK of people take to the air, hopeful hunters and spectators alike. For my tame, I had been sitting alone in the top of that tree (you know the one) for literally hours, with no one else hovering, on the nearby ledge (which also works for the tame), or another tree. Beyond myself, there was only the usual 'daily' traffic down below. Banth popped and it was like the stage curtain had suddenly opened and I had an instant audience. It felt decidedly odd after all of the rare tames I've done out in the middle of nowhere with with no one about. The tame went off without a hitch and I even got a few /claps from nearby hovering spectators. A memorable tame.

oh come on.. I never said my grammer was the best nor that I actually re read when I should so that it makes sense I swear sometimes I think I am dsylexic or something, what I want to type I dont type or end up adding to it and I didnt mean to in the first place. Its.. very odd.

didnt say it was for the forums, all these are for in game commendments. Sometimes I really wish people would use them to, would save alot of grief for people.

True, even though I agree with these rules and think they should be "forum rules" for the most part for petopian members, it will add some confusion (going along somewhat with the debate in the other thread about naming / shaming)

I added ingame for less confusion. Its not the rules for petopians but I should hope that petopians, who really like their pets and know all about the pain of griefing are not breaking any. I kinda just complied a list from everything that was happening to me and put in some commandments for hunters. If anything hunters should know about the loss of camping 14+ hours for a rare and someone kill it/tame it on you etc.

I was just kind of sick and hearing hunters attitudes towards each other, so I added this..

and this mage didnt read the golden rule. He asked me if I was going to tame it, I said my hunter friend was going to so he.. I thought backed off. Apparently he was hitting it while my friend was kiting to. My friend almost got him but died at the last second. Mage comes and kites him to death, frost mage who knows it drops 25g only. He tried to kill anthriss a few times and died, so I told him that all the rares in molten front only drop 25g. My friend rezzed but we couldnt do nothing.. tried to MD *sigh* really? hes a gnome to.. that made it so much worse. Solix.. is more hunter that I thought.. he hates frost mages to.
