I'm sorry, but I don't get the joke.

lol...that is quite funny.

It is a parody of how Pokemon fights go in the game.

Not bad, but they could have polished it up a bit more.... or maybe its supposed to be that way... /shrug

(I was kinda hoping for something more epic... )

Yeah, I was hoping for some more polish/a more amusing way of killing him (maybe something lore-related), and at least some Pokemon-style sprites. Here's a good parody-Pokemon-battle example:

I remember this one. Too bad the skill "Hope" eventually got nerfed to oblivion, but on the up side the skill "Change" got seriously buffed and has a fear effect now.

...the devil's in the patch notes...
