Yesterday when I was at a friend's house checking stuff on his WoW characters, he logged on one of his low level hunters, and when he went to his stables, we noticed that his diseased wolf was replaced by a normal looking grey wolf. We couldn't really understand what was going on, and I told him I'd check it out when I had time. Just now I went to Elwynn Forest, and sure enough all the Diseased Young Wolf mobs are now plain grey Young Wolf mobs. Was this intentional? It looks like this was changed when Patch 4.2 came out. While it's not really a problem to drag him all the way to Silverpine Forest to get his wolf back, I'm just curious as to why this was changed so suddenly without warnning.

I noticed this when I logged into one of my hunters (who has an undead/fel pet theme) and his rotty wolf Megiddo had magically and mysteriously healed himself, turning back into a normal gray wolf.

So yeah, pretty intentional, I'd say. Whatever 'disease' was plaguing the woods of Elwynn has apparently been dealt with.

So they nuked Goldshire did they?

That said, maybe it's reflecting the storyline, hard to say.

This happened to my beloved Patches, he's all healed and no longer...patchy.

There were two types of diseased wolves in Elwynn, one in the starter zone and one in the zone outside. The mobs had different IDs. What I suspect is, if you got one from around the Abbey, those wolves were simply removed when Cata hit, and thus retain their undead appearance. If you got one of the diseased wolves from Elwynn proper (the ones that travel with a higher level wolf), those had their models/names swapped out but the ID remained the same. Thus they resumed an un-diseased appearance.

Must say, I tamed one with the "buff" and he looks badass all clean and grey with green gas bubbles and skulls. I actually like him more now.

Just a sparkly, I nabbed all of the non dmg ones a few months back, I like unique pets. :] He's gorgeous now tho with model change.
