I feel bad for the guy who was taming. He's one of the ones I've been helping, so as a hordie, I couldn't warn him that he needed to back up before the tame. D:

This happened to me >.< I was kiting her around with a pally friend of mine helping dps with exorcism/avenger's shield/judgement (lol). A horde mage came over to try to help get the HP down though I had not asked-- and I started to try my tame when BAM- dead.

I originally thought it was b/c the horde mage was there.. but I think she just killed herself!

I was lucky though, and the next day I went out to kill some spideys for skins and she popped up. Saw another hunter trying to tame so I waited to see what would happen- well they hadn't knocked down the HP at all, just kept spamming their tame beast and then they popped deterrence. Once deterrence was gone they proceeded to get one-shotted. They were just sitting at their body so I decided to go ahead and start the kiting dance with the help of my same pally friend, and another guildie who happened to be out there at the time.

After a few minutes, we got the HP down, and I started to try my tame--- but was foiled when the OTHER HUNTER had body rezzed and started to try to tame! They died again, because they were standing right next to Deth, so I started my tame again- this time with deterrence and haste pot on CD thanks to the other hunter interfering. A few seconds later and Deth was mine.

The other hunter proceeded to rez and call me a ninja, to which I replied something along the lines of, "I saw you were here first, and waited to try to tame. You did not know the strategy, I waited for you to rez, you didn't, so I decided to try. Then YOU proceeded to try to ninja the spider after I had done all of the work to get it down. So no, I'm not a ninja." They didn't say anything more, and I left.

I have been going over this in my mind- did I do the right thing? Should I have waited for the other hunter to come back to their body? Well, I did, and they just sat there at their body. Not one person has said I was in the wrong- especially since I play on a PVP server- but I still feel a little bad.

You were in the right there and the other hunter was being a jerk. Grats on your Deth!

Happy ending from here as well; the hunter who was going for the Deth pictured above ended up taming the next spawn!

Just caught him!!! A horde warrior tried to kill him, but luckily he was flagged and another hunter kept him busy while I tamed!! =D

I have seen two Deth deaths.. I was helping two different hunters on different occasions taking down Deth so he would become tameable, and due to the hunters not knowing how it worked, and I wasn't aware of it, they didn't put away their pets fast enough, so Deth got in the fatal strike. >.<
