Question about Nether Shock

If I turn this on auto use, will my pet cast it when my target starts to cast? or does he just use it right away even if my target isn't casting? I ask this because my guild is going to start doing some pvp and I'd like to get a good pet. I'm stuck between Wasp - Warpstalker - Nether Ray, and nether ray may win out IF they don't just use their interrupt everytime its off cd and if the target isn't casting.
And please, don't come here to say "crab is best" or "use spider."

Your nether ray will cast it on CD on autocast regardless of whether the mob is casting or not. Moths and gorillas will smart cast their interrupts if you'd prefer.

I guess this depends on what you define as a 'smart cast', but my moth doesn't really cast it to interrupt unless I do it manually. He never has.
It's possible that moths did smart cast in the past, or maybe Atlas is just defective. He'll cast it if the mob has a mana bar, regardless of if they're casting or not - much like the nether rays do. I can't speak for gorillas, however, since I've never had one. I wish he'd smart cast, but I have to do it on my own otherwise he spams it whenever it's up.

Huh, my moths were able to determine if their mob was casting or not. I'll have to take mine out for a spin to see if they changed it. Honestly, for serious PvP, you're better off manually controlling the interrupt anyway that way you can make sure you interrupt something important and not a lock trying to purposely goad you into interrupting their fear, for example.

Oh yeah, that sucks. Well, I know for sure gorillas will smart cast their interrupt. My moths always have, but I've heard mixed stories about it from other people; with some saying it does and others it doesn't.

I remember my rays just casting their shock at anything that moved, but I haven't tried one out in a while.
