A whole five times. (Griefing and Skarr)

Not sure if this is in the right place, but I need to vent.

Now, I've been lucky with my tames. Generally have had no competition, no one has ever griefed me directly during a tame (just /spit on me after, haha) but I sadly cannot say the same for my guild mate (the same one whom I helped tame Deth'tilac and Terrorpene).

Every time I have been up with her whilst she's attempted to tame Skarr (which is a total of five times, and counting) and every time, without fail, someone from the Alliance (shamans or druids, usually) come along and absolutely annihilate Skarr mid tame. A few of the same names keep popping up, too. I know the whole 'it's not the faction, it's the player' business but this is just outright hatred.

Is this reportable? I have a ticket but with average 2 Day wait for a response I don't think I'm going to get anywhere.

Make sure Harassment or Griefing is somewhere prominent early in the ticket, since this is such, it might catch their attention.

'Griefing' was the second word in the ticket I do believe, haha.

I've signed off to draw since I put the ticket in, but I'm hoping to still get a reply. It probably won't be what I want to see, though.
Such is life, I guess. I've simmered down since I posted, but it's still disgusting behaviour to intentionally ruin someone's day by crapping all over their perseverance and dedication. It's not even happening to me and I want to stab someone in the face!

It seems like Skarr and Karkin get killed more than any other. (Well, maybe not Deth'tilac.) I've been having the same things happen, and man, I feel your pain. I hope the griefers give it up soon...

Unfortunately its happening alot since skarr/karkins big guns comes out when you hit tame. I saw 3 skarrs pop yesterday and only one of them was tamed, second one was killed by a shaman (because he could) while a hunter was there crying he then tried to kill skitterflame while a hunter was trying to tame it. (he died three times, even after I told him it drops 25g, stop trying to kill it when a hunter is trying to tame it) I put in a ticket. The third time is actually by a NE hunter who is well known for being basically a jerk, he had skarr with him, saw skarr was up and went to kill him. I managed to get him killed by hitting tame and getting barrage off but skarr sadly still died but atleast so did he. He killed Skarr and took out his Skarr basically just to mock me and my guildie, so we just took out our skarrs and laughed when the jerk fell. I am not sure if thats griefing as noone was taming skarr at the time but.. if you can hit tame beast to try and kill the guy trying to kill them. He's killed Karkin to for basically no reason but because "he can".

Sorry to hear about the griefing of your guildy, Warmech. I'd reported a player for doing the same thing, who'd apparently killed multiple rares during tame. I'm not sure if you'd submitted this way (or if I just got lucky with the timer), but when I reported I clicked and submitted under the "Report a Player" "Report Abuse" tab, rather than "Open a Ticket". My report was addressed within 2 hours, and had also been escalated. The GM wrote a grateful message for reporting that type of behavior, and that the issue was promptly addressed. Below is a screenshot of their response (posted in another thread, sorry if it's a repeat for some!):

I hope the helps, and best of luck to you and your guildy. :)

Whoops, I'll edit my post above yours--I'd submitted under "Report Abuse" tab, which does cover player griefing. It's also something that I'd recently noticed, so can't say when they implemented that change. It's pretty nifty though, at least for the one time I've used it! Good luck. :)

I've had to report people a lot. No GM will even talk to me while I'm online now. They just send me an ingame mail (even if I'm online and not afk!) no matter what. They claim the issue is being taken care of. It doesn't matter. If I see griefing, I will still report it. I don't CARE if the 'issue is being taken care of'...I will report the asshole ganking a tame I'm trying to help someone get. I usually lose gold and time during these tame-attempts and they're harassing me as well as the hunter trying to actually get the pet. It is just ignorance.

Like someone else said (can't remember who) make it a "beast master's challenge" where as soon as the hunter tags the pet, no one else except a party member can do anything to it or the hunter. Or make all the rares like Ghostcrawler. Literally unkillable.

Sixth time's the charm it seems, I was able to witness my guildie tame Skarr about 20 minutes before the server maintenance. She's over the moon with her new pal and she woke up her hubby to celebrate- who was also pleased with her success.

I'm so glad she stuck it out, and it gives me the warm fuzzies knowing he went to a good home. Welcome to the guild ranch, Hephaestus!

Grats on your tame! I would refrain from posting anymore lost tame stories tho. They seem to be getting defending by the mods here and I don't want you to get in trouble like I did. These are hard tames and its frustrating, but its not worth a ban over just to vent. Apparently no one here wants to listen to you vent, so seethe in private or make realm post forums, but apparently it goes against this forum's spirit, even if it is not naming and shaming. I'm just trying to be nice and warn you that you're walking on hot coals every time you post a "someone ganked this pet" thread.

Very huge grats on the tame though! I've seen Skarr griefed from me 4 times now. Glad someone got him finally. Hephaestus is a good name too, God of Fire and forging and all.

Grats to your guildie! Gotta love those late restart tames. Thumbs up on the name as well. :)

There's nothing wrong with asking if this is a reportable offense; you're fine, Warmech. If Moderator approached you, Sarantha, it was likely regarding something different.

I thought you were a mod, Kall. I appear to have been mistaken. Other than you, no one else has approached me on the matter of my "this pet got ganked" posts.

Nope, not anymore. :) And I told you specifically what the issue was there. And it wouldn't've been a mod issue even if I was still a mod, just a side note. ;)

I realize I transposed realm post forums. It should have been realm forums post. Alas, the confusing english language. Thanks, again, Kall.

congrats to your guildie! Unfortunately there are quite a few who try to kill them on our server.. had so much joy and pleasure killing two people off so that a hunter could try to tame it. Most times it seems to be this "other faction must not get pretty pet, no I dont care if your camping for 4+ hour straight and that theres a person behind that screen, your horde/alliance and I spit on you!"

venting is allowed its just when the naming/shaming and foul language come out that it can be fine line of what should be allowed. The naming shaming then is mostly sometimes thing happens and you dont know the other side of the story, then that person comes here to defend themselves and it becomes a huge fight with noone winning. Just let the people on your server know and report that person, ive let quite a few people on my server know about people who kill them and most hunters keep an eye out for them. Sometimes reporting means nothing to

The swearing.. not needed. I get your point, your angry, your pissed I dont really enjoy reading a swear word every sentence or heck for me even once. Its my personal taste. Its just a personal respect for other people who may be offended tis all. Everyone is allowed to vent and venting is really good! It gets it off your chest and its nice to know that people do really care but just gotta be tactful about it :)

English has wonderful swear words that I tend to make use of far more than I should. ><

I have never, and will never, name and shame someone here. I wouldn't like it if they did it to me (could've been a total accident, so it'd just make them look bad) so I wouldn't do that to them.

I got it! I'll start swearing in Japanese! How many people here know that language well? ;)
