I was looking through my stable and i noticed my main hunter has an extinct bat. he was the old pet from shadowfang keep. the third or forth thing ive tamed. hes a living fossil of the best dungeon (in my opinion old SFK>to current) anyone else have a pe like this? hes not uniqued skinned but hes still pretty special to me.

I actually think that spawn was moved to deepholm.... not sure since petopia still says its extinct, and I've never seen it there.

wasnt it the blind hunter? why would a level 24 mob be moved to a 83 area?

As for 'why', no one knows. But there he is. Sharing a spawn timer with Aeonaxx, from what anyone can gather.

He got REALLY lost.

But yeah, he's the Vyragosa for tracking down Aeonaxx

To actually answer the question: I don't presently have any extinct mobs. I've had several that *were* extinct and got brought back (Olm, Timber, Gezzarak), but the only 'extinct' one I have at the moment is the hydra. And if hydras ever *do* become tameable, I have a feeling I will be switching it for another color I like better. Poor Glitch.

I have the lower level of Snort the Heckler on my Lv 19 twink, which is a skin you can no longer get at that level.

I went and saved a few pets on my troll hunter before Cataclysm hit. She has one of the red bats from old SFK, and also Steelsnap the Hyena from Thousand Needles. He was such an iconic hyena I had to save him from the flood.

I had the following pets:

Sarltooth - Blue raptor from Wetlands (Was under the impression he'd become a skeleton, but NO, Blizzard "FORGOT" to keep the NPC ID the same)
Oil Stained Wolf - Ditched him for Lone Hunter with sword. ("Extinct" in that he's far harder to tame now)
Battle Boar with Fire - Ditched cause I never use boars, and he wasn't that cool looking past the flames. (Same as above)
Washte Pawne - A red wind serpent from the Barrens. I didn't want to find a group to clear ZG just to get his skin. (never used him, so ditched him)
Sunreaver Dragonhawk - From Crystalsong Forest. (Ditched because he didn't get the skin update he was supposed to get)

Ursa! He's actually an extinct Grizzled Black Bear from Loch Modan. He was always the most special to me (my #1 pet, always and forever), but of all my pets, he's the only one I ended up saving from extinction (unless you count Pygmalion, who WAS the Large Loch Crocolisk, but is now a carbon copy of Gosh-Haldir due to changing through the Cataclysm.....or the original Chitter, whose equivalent in the wild is no longer there, since his namesake is).

I have Isis my murderous blisterpaw, same thing there common skin extinct rare

Lord Lakmaeran, the elite and unbelievably epic white & blue chimaera raid boss for the level 60 Sceptre of the Shifting Sands quest line (iirc he had around 300k hp). Folks used to try and solo him at 70, which even if you succeeded it took AGES, and you had to be a solo-worthy class.

I tamed him as soon as chimaeras became available; he's gone now, his island sunk beneath the sea, and all of his chimaera brethren are just gone. Talisman's now my oldest pet <3

I have Naphthali, a red spider that looks like this:



She is the now-extinct Razzashi Broodwidow from the spider wing of Zul'Gurub, back when it was a raid.

She's one of my top four pets, my other three being Apollyon (King Krush), Tetsusaiga (Echeyakee) and Vulkoor (black Madexx). /huggles Naphthali

I nearly let her go to tame the rare Naraxis, but she looked so cute that I just couldn't do it. And now, I'm so glad I kept her. She's even more extra-special to me now that her kin have been eradicated from ZG.

I have the pale bat from SFK on Kaenn back from my attempt at doing a black and 'white' colour theme on his pets. The theme didn't stick, but some of the pets did.
