Everyone says they smell, but they really don't. They're like cats. If you don't clean out their litter box, it smells. That and they're Marshalls ferrets so they're automatically descented and spayed/neutered.

Thats good! Ive only ever seen em in a pet store, so many people dont like their body shape, complain that they dont want em because they smell, or because their like rabbits and crap all over the place (rabbits aint that bad imo, i had to care for my class pet one (named prince oreo XD) back in grd. 4) Did you have to train them to use their litter box?

Not really. Whenever ANY ferret poops, they haaaaaaaaaaaaaaave to back up into a corner, so it's just natural to get a corner box and they learn that that's where they're supposed to potty. But, you have to be careful on what type of litter you buy them because cat litter can kill hem. (The clay particles can clog their air ways.) Ferrets are naturally diggers so they'll dig in clay litter and the first thing they do is dive head first into anything. Haha, it's funny. I'll post a video I'm making of Piper and her wits, soon. Give me twenty minutes. XD

For now, here's Piper being nerdy (also, it's the first video, in my life, I've ever made and edited, so disregard my newbieness):

I love ferrets, but I understand they're even more destructive than cats (and those are already bad enough) and I'm not sure how well they'd get along with five cats and a pestering dog ...

Awww, so cute! I wouldn't mind having one as a pet one day. Though, I have to ask: What's Dead Sleep like for these guys? I hear you can do practically anything with them and they won't wake up. I've been able to catch a few videos of it, and it facinates me to no end.

Well, I've always had a few ferrets at a time, these are actually my second set and it seems like it's only the boys that fall into the dead sleep. I'm sure it's not like that with just boys, but in my experience, yeah. And yes, you really can do anything with them. Nikolas is HUGE now and you can lift him up and let him fall like six inches onto a pillow without him even stirring. It's so funny. The picture of him in my boyfriends arms was the very first time he's ever fell into a dead sleep and I caught it.

Bah. Who's says you can't?
They're not sold here. And are classified as "illegal" but I think it's one of those turn a blind eye kind of thing. 98% of the pet stores here sell food, cages, toys, bedding etc etc for ferrets. Pretty much every vet I've ever worked with or encountered welcomes, sees and treats ferrets. If there wasn't a pretty steady stream of CA ferret residents I wouldn't think this would happen. So head off to Nevada and pick one up. ;)

I love ferrets and got to babysit a pair once. They were a hoot.

I had ferrets, and they were absolutely charming. They do poop a lot though, and are prone to cancers, so most have a short lifespan. Mine lived to be old, so old their fur turned white. Our vet couldn't believe it!
