Three Is (Never) A Crowd Trifecta - Edit: NEW! Guide+Maps!

For those that are interested, I may be writing a guide. My methods are for zero stress/camping methods.
I had initially wanted to wait until I found a third TLPD before writing this, but Aeonaxx works just as well.
I'm actually more than a little shocked this happened. In the course of a month, I've gotten 3
Mysterious Camel Figurine Mounts + Titles, and 3
Aeonaxx / Phosphorescent Stone Drake Mounts across my two hunters and one priest.
Today, 7/31, I just got my third and final
Time-Lost Protos now.
I'm up
two3 4 Time-Lost Protos now, and fishing here and there for a potential third for my second hunter. Not only does the Belf hunter have one now, my baby mage does too!
It is my favorite mount in the game
Mysterious Camel Figurines
In total, I've found 13 statues. 3 real, 10 fake. My two hunters found real ones on their first statues ever. My priest, it took a little trial and effort -- but the vendor trash is worth it, to be honest. I ended up with 250 gold by all said and done.
Aeonaxx / Phosphorescent Stone Drake
Let me start by saying I have never once camped for this drake. All three times I've flown face first into him on whims. I recommend this method whole heartedly. I've seen and heard of him spawning more times in the early morning hours than any other time -- basically check before work/school/your day begins and you'll have the mount fast.
Honestly never anticipated finding a third. I had went on my latest hunter on a whim just because it was morning and I didn't know what to do. I had not dropped by the zone since I had leveled. I did a loop, and was absolutely stunned to see Aeonaxx flying in tight circles not far from the entrance of the zone.
Go go random luck. I've yet to see a bat, but I'll gladly take Aeonaxx
(I only remembered to take 'battle' shots on the two later ones, not my first one. Frankly the first kill, I was shaking so bad I could barely smash my buttons).
Happy hunting
And if anyone is interested in me writing a guide to anything, just let me know.
EDIT NEW:
This morning I got lucky. I got my
finalTime-Lost Proto Drake for my belfy hunter.
NEWLY Added is a screenshot from my Worgen Mage who sorta found the TLPD after I idled for 4 hrs.
For my TLPDs, I mostly idled while I was working at home on certain days, or working on art. My nelf hunter ran face first into it by accident (this was my second one).
Either way, this is another relaxing method, and I think I pinned down a pattern. (which will be discussed in a guide later on I suppose.)
YAAAAY
NOTE AT THE END OF THIS THREAD... there are maps and information on how to get this stuff.

A guide to the Time-Lost and the camels would be nice. I've found many Vyragosas (and 6 Time-Lost corpses) and fake camels but it's never the real one. And grats on all the sweet mounts

I would like a guide on Phosphorescent Stone Drake for sure. That looks like a nice mount.

I could use both the camel guide and an Aeonaxx guide for sure

I'd love a guide!

It seems that whatever you do really pays off.

Have you go the Reins of Poseidus?
I have only ever gotten dud camel figures so a guide would be super nice

I'll definitely look at making a guide

A lot of the TLPD and Aeonaxx requires luck. TLPD requires you having found at least Vyra/TLPD in the past (before server reset) in my personal experience.
I'll see what I can do to write up what my experiences are. As with everything, this particular method(s) worked for me and may not work for everyone.
Right now the first guide I'd do is the Camels. I've screenshots and maps ready, it's just a matter of where/how best to display all the information gathered. I'll let you know once I have.
Cheers!

Honestly there is no real guide on this one for me. I'm either bloody lucky, or just realize what timer is most common for my particular server.
I've friends, myself, and random folks I've talked to that have stated early mornings / late nights are the best times to hunt.
My person Aeonaxxes were gotten around:
1:30 AM
6:30 AM
7:40 AM
Friends have gotten their own around the 6-8 AM marks commonly, and we had a second one in our rare channel get hers on her baby priest around 2 AM.
A good method of finding this guy is just do a swing around the zone before bed or before you go to work/school/wake up
(and again, everyone has their own preferences, but nothing wakes you up better than finding a rare

)

The Camel Guide should be coming up soon. Just got to find a good spot to host it -- or if it should be done as one massive image and uploaded to DA or something.
Aeonaxx, as mentioned in a post above, is more or less a little dumb luck and finding the common spawn time for that particular rare. Some rares, no matter the week, seem to spawn commonly at a certain time. IE Skoll on our server is often up around the 8 AM or 8 PM mark (it fluxes, of course, but this has been the most common time finding him)
Good luck!

I've not tried for Poseidus post patch. (plenty of times pre-mount patch, though) I was out there once, and saw the post-patch Poseidus being tagged and brought down, and heard of my friend getting his mount, but I've not really camped or timed it for him.
I feel there's not enough data yet on him to predict a solid pattern yet. With having knocked out the other rares, however, I may dabble in trying to find him now.
I'll let you know how that goes.

Grats and good luck! Your data was invaluable in helping me find my Krush (<3 Arawn), so I'm glad to see this.

Awww I'm very glad to have helped.
BTW: I just noticed from my screenshots... The rares lost their ELITE status!! C_c;
They're no longer 'elite' mobs. They're now normal (rare) mobs.

I noticed that too! I was comparing my recent kill screenshot with the screenshot of the first one I ever saw (that got away), going '...is he not-elite now?' It would be interesting to see if the silver-elite border is still in use on any mob, as I'm suspecting they all got slapped with a generic rare border. No hard data on that, but just a hunch.

Alright. Here are some fast graphics. My guide is on hold until I can find the best place to write and put it up. Not sure a DA or LJ journal post is the best.
Mysterious Camel Figurines
They are tiny.
They are untargetable
I recommend just dropping by and looking once in a while. You'll get more lucky than you guess.
Also if Deathwing burns up the area, it resets ALL NPCS and this can assume statues as well.
Here is how tiny:
95 % of the time, it will turn to dust which vendors for 25 gold.
5 % of the time, you will be whisked off to a phased area of Feralas to fight a boss.
For the boss, basically do not stand in blue puddle goo, and DPS him down. Be careful about AOE.
Patrol Area:

This is another winged guide...
Time-Lost Proto Drake & Vyragosa
Some things to note:
They share spawn points and patrol routes.
They share spawn timers.
No other rare spawn shares a timer with these guys. Seriously. Skoll and Dirkee and whatever spawn you assume in Storm Peaks are not linked to these guys.. Vyra and TLPD are linked together and that's it. Done deal. Game over.
Recently these both have lost their elite status and hit like sock puppets.
Map and Spawn Locations:
Example Spawn Schedule:
Spawn Schedule:
Tuesday -
Vyragosa - 5:36 PM
Wednesday -
Vyragosa - 5:32 PM
Thursday a friend found a corpse of the
Time-Lost Proto Drake at 12-ish (midnight). I based my new timer on this. I wasn't looking on these past few days due to raid.
Friday -
Vyragosa - 12:29 AM
Saturday -
Vyragosa - 1:11 PM
Sunday -
Vyragosa - 12:26 AM
Sunday -
Time-Lost Proto Drake - 1:35 PM
My Personal Advice:
Don't camp. Unless your comp will be idle anyway and you are doing other things, don't camp. It'll stress you and really doesn't work well for everyone. If you understand the timers, you understand the spawn. This is how I hunt a TON of rares.
I suggest dropping by and winging through the zone before bed, if you get that weird itch/tingle to go look, or before work.
A LOT OF THINGS ARE UP IN THE AM HOURS! Even on high pop servers. My server is medium-high.
Good luck

I would recommend NOT camping if you're going to be at the computer, you'll go insane. I love the "random fly by method" you mention, its much easier on the brain for sure.
GREAT camel guide! I was looking for a good route idea to take and Appreciate it. I'm hunting that lil' sucker right now (0 for 5 figurines so far).
I'm wondering though, you think you'd be able to see all 4 routes in the middle of the frozen river there? (just north of waterfall spawn). I camped the frozen lake when I would leave my computer on, but the problem is that you'll miss 25% of the spawns there 100% of the time (since brunnhildar isnt covered)

Oh another thing thats beneficial since you can't target the Camel's anymore, is to turn on FRIENDLY NAME PLATES.
I'll take a SS next time I run across one, but its easier since when you're on the ground they will have a Green Health bar above their head

Dayum girl, great guide! You're very lucky, geez!
You happen to have any info on Poseidus at all? There's barely much to scrap up from the interwebz - even the one linked on the TLPD/Aeonaxx resource site. :/

How did I not see responses? Apparently I'm blind.
However thank you much
@Atalanta:
For Poseidus, I've not really done much work with him. A lot has to do with the respawn rate being just so long, it really is hard to get a good feel for him.
A friend of mine has found him twice post patch (where most if not all my finds were pre-mount patch) and usually states mornings on weekends are a good time to just drift by his spawn points.
He's also viewable from air (IE skim the surface, it makes your travel between points quicker).
I'm sorry this wasn't more helpful :/
-----
@Royi:
Actually had nameplates on at one point, and they still didn't show up. Though may have had a setting wrong. Honestly one of the nice things about the figurines, is I like the "Where's Waldo?" type of feel it has.
For the TLPD spawn location at the frozen river middle... I'm a bit leery being off a full spawn point. While you cut your chances at missing one, unless the zone is dead both sides, there's a chance things will be found/tagged/killed before it finds you.
IF the zone is devoid of life both sides, then that'd be a good solution. It seems more viable towards low pop servers, though.
Personally my own, 3 of my 4 were gotten by being parked at the Bor's Breath spawn point, and 4 out of 4 were obtained there.
1) Nelf priest: I sat at Bor's Breath and it came down from Ulduar's point.
2) Nelf hunter: Flew face first into it at the waterfall spawn point (near bor's breath, this is the path that loops around Frost Hold)
3) Belf hunter: Spawned at Bor's Breath location, camped.
4) Worgen mage: Camped, spawned at the back of the waterfall point and moved up to Bor's Breath.
**
BTW: and when I say camped, the only time I camp is when I'm doing other things. In most of these cases I was working from home on a different laptop.
WoW camping = background/wallpaper, imo
Hope this helps
