So,

I joined a group to Kill Nefarian, and I decided to go to Molton Front quick to check and see if anything had popped. Did eagle eye, and was like nothing over by Deth's area... Nothing over by Kirix's area. And that's all I needed. I decided to reado the search and then Kirix Popped!. I was like OMG OMG... I can't get summoned right now. Went over to the area. Feel off, Druid of Flame picked me up and put me back down. Then I got on the rock to tame. Failed the first time cause I didn't deterrence. Went back to do it the second time, fell off, died and then got back up. I tried it again and this time, remembered to deterrence . Cast went through and I squeeled. Screenshot to show its the REAL Kirix! And not one of those MiniGreen Spiders!

The picture was the second that I tamed & it still registered as Kirix as "R"(Rare) and showing my Group Tag. As you can see the green stuff is coming out of this friendly pet (Cause he was tamed)

Congratulations on the tame!! I've been seeing Kirix around alot because people found out about the broodlings

I think there is more achievment in getting the real one though good job!

I have seen Kirix one, just as he got tamed.

But there's always plenty of skeletons around where he spawns...

I totally agree!.

People are always like, well you can get the same one anyways over by the other place, but that one is disposable. At least this one I have the proof is real & Isn't something I'm gonna toss away.

I love the broodlings; they're so hard to track down sometimes that they're just as rare as Kirix is, even without the silver dragon.

Congrats! Broodlings were out in force this morning so I nabbed me a Kirix-alike ... I have been camping for Kirix for almost four days now. First three spawns where while I was in raid or at work, but I camped for 10.5 hours yesterday after work with NO luck. I am so disappointed! I think the restarts screwed the timer.

Gratz. Kirix is an amazingly deadly spider. I got mine and sadly could not name him Slayer so i named him Mulder instead

I currently am on again off again camping for Kirix myself, and I consistantly try and eagle eye over by where the Broodlings allegedly spawn but I never have seen anything. Do you have to do shadow wardens dailies for them to spawn? (just wondering since i do druids of talon usually)


Congrats on the tame though! Is there any tricks on taming him while on that rock? I'm generally on that rock myself, i was told shoot him, he'll evade, then wait for him to start casting, det+tame

No, the Warden dailies are not required... They do spawn on certain days though.

Unfortunately, "certain days" are completely random! You might see spawns of them several days in a row, or you might go weeks without seeing them. There's no connection between the broodlings and any of the dailies. The only advantage that Shadow Warden dailies gives you is that it puts you directly in the area, so if they're up, you will definitely run into at least one group while doing dailies.

He thinks most people are dinner. I'm sure you'll get him at some point! It just might take some gear upgrades (depending on your hp) and the right execution first.

Ah shucks, I have them in my npcscan, so I'm still waiting. But now that Kirix has eluded me so much, I'm kind of wanting to get the REAL one as the OP suggested


At least he's the one rare on the Front that DOESNT get ganked / killed. Heck he doesnt even have a loot table on wowhead

After failing to tame and having someone tame it out from under me no less than 4 times, a fellow rare enthusiast hunter friend of mine played bodyguard and either interfered or ganked (Pvp server at the time) any interference. Using rock plus ancient hysteria I was able to add Kirix to my spider collection. Now, the hunt for Deth'tilac... the final challenge.

By the way, from one fan of TukUI/ElvUI to another, nice UI!

Hee, this is among the many reasons I love Kirix.

Hopefully you'll get to see the babies, even if you do tame Kirix. They're so cute!

You have to cast deterrence after he starts his toxin cast, or your det will run out before he finishes and you'll die.

I hit hysteria, dismissed, sat on the rock and was able to tame him before his toxic got casted on me. I never hit deterence if it means anything. He's suuuuuuuuuuuuuper easy to tame if you're on that rock.
