Anyone else notice this?

I went out today, found Olm and let my friend who was wanting him know so she could come tame. Now, she and I are the same level, she is a draenei while I am a worgen. I noticed the size difference after she tamed. Neither of used the K Bits or the Glyph of lesser proportions.

I thought all the initial talk had Banny being the bigger of the two birds..?

It did! How strange. :1

Banny was huge on the PTR but they changed him back down to a normal size before that patch went live.

I did no such thing! I actually took about 50 screenies just to make sure I had the best shots I could get of them where their movements were the same.

And if you can take screenies proving Banny is the bigger of the two, then post them-without using kibts or the proportions glyph.

Yeah Ban'thalos was definitely larger on the PTR. I thought he looked small when I tamed him.

Oh well, spirit bird still brings the hurt in my raids so I can't complain XD

I am actually kind of sad with Olm still... I tamed him when my hunter was questing in her 60's... a guildie was farming hte bear meat to level his cooking and he was like hey i found a cool looking bird... then in cata they changed how he looked... still not sure if I like the new look or not... I liked the white gold with the golden beak... the new one is cool because it's unique and all... but it's still not the bird I tamed... dose any one else get that feeling?

i checked my flying pets, olm, spiteflayer, and oil hawk do look a bit bigger now. rex ashi seems to be regular size.

Actually Olm was not just a white owl, he had an off white color with a golden beak and feet so that his feathers looked almost like white gold. Yes, it is a common model, now in Cata, before Cata it was a rare skin with the gold beak...

but the point is more having a pet we caught because we loved the look being changed... to something still cool... but not the same pet we caught...

Olm's old skin wasn't unique, you could skip over to Winterspring and find identical owls. It's still a pretty skin, although I think his new one's pretty neat.

just noticed the trick ability isn't working with Olm. maybe he got too big to do trick...

The owl models have never had the trick animation, only the Eagles and Hawks can do it I believe.

All the birds with their wings going out sideways will do the trick and bird with their wings up will not.

All Birds of Prey have the trick animation, as shown here by Aless' Owl, Lavania:



However, as the flavour text reads, bigger birds might not be interested. Owls and Eagles won't, but Parrots and other birds of prey, like the Seagull (snicker), will do it. So that means that Aotona, if you're lucky enough to tame that beauty, might just do it.

No they wont. Only bird that share the model animations with druid fight forms will have it. Owls, and parrots are broken since they have a different flying animation.

I have clicked trick on parrots and owls millions of times and its never happened.

Trick is the /mountspecial for Druid Flight Form.

I want my Ban'thalos to have a Trick ability.

Yea Aotona does not do the trick animation. Its sad.
