I'm just wondering for all you pet lover our there, if you guys talk to your animals like you would a child. You like, calling them certain name and what not. I admit that I do, I love my cat to pieces. She is the only pet I've had this long, I think it' been 4 years. Id be lost without her.

No, but not sure what that means, as I don't baby talk to babies either.

It's when you hear people do like the whole "Who's a good baby? Who's a good baby? Gootchy gootchy goo." in the weirdest of voices. I am totally guilty of doing it to pets, but I don't seem to do it around babies and kids as much.

Sorry, I phrased that badly, Tyger, I know what baby talk is, I just don't know what it means that I never use it!

I do talk to them in baby talk once in a while but when I realize I'm doing it I think to myself "wtf am I doing?" and then go back to talking to them normally. However, sometimes they are just acting so cute I can't help it.

Pretty much this. I only do it with my cat though. If I try to with my rat he gets over excited by the pitch of my voice and throws things at me lol. Its like hes saying "shut up woman!"

I talk to my cat like she's my own flesh and blood. xD She's my baby.<3
I usually call her Kitty Maows, and if she's being a jerk I call her Poopy Kitty. xD I also tell her constantly how she's the prettiest kitty in the entire world. <3

I do it with all rats. Even random people's pets. Or the lab rats at my school. I pick them up under their little arms, nuzzle their cute little noses and go "huzzo bubbies!" v_v; It's so bad. Haha.

I am guilty of saying "Whose my bubbas?" to Yoshi and "Whose my baby-gurl?" to Kali. I call Yoshi everything but his name half the time. He's Bubby, bubbas, bubby boy, Yosh, Yo, big boy, drool bucket, ect. And his tail is named Froo froo cuddly poops. We have decided that his tail is it's own entity whose mission in life is to seek out and destroy testicles(He's made many an unsuspecting male guest clutch their crotch in agony), the Wii(he always knocks it over), and anything else that happens to be on a table edge at the wrong time.
Actually, Kali seems to have a vendetta against testicles too, but her method is much more volatile tend to leave them on their knees. She runs at you at full speed, skids and does a 180 at the last second, then slams her head back into your crotch while looking up at you. I have to crate them when we have new male company nowadays. Unless of course I don't like the person... >;)

Totally guilty. And my cat Felix eats it up. I raised him since he was itty bitty and he pretty much adores the attention. Not including the nicknames he's grown used to hearing.
Kittenhead was a nickname I gave him before he actually had a real name, he still responds to it.
Sinkcat when he's trotting around on my bathroom sink to get my attention.
Gargoyle when he's perched onto the back of my desk chair.
I call him my "black boy" or "my shadow" whenever he's getting petted on. He loves being hugged.
*Just as long as he can jump onto my shoulder and perch for awhile afterwards, heh.
Only problem being is that he's *only* become attached to me. He hisses all mean like at everyone else he's ever met. He's never bit anyone though. I think he just likes to act like he's all big and tough when really he's just a wuss.

People talking baby talk to anything or anybody actually irritates the hell out of me.
I don't even know why. It just sends this cringe up my spine and I want out of there asap.
The most I'll say to a pet is "HEY BUDDY" and that's not even close to baby talk.
