Ankha Spawning

Ankha was only spirit beast I needed and yet to see it live or tamed. I read all the post last night about people not seeing Ankha etc and thought today I'll camp the area.
I went over to the area and thought about doing some fishing while I waited. As soon as I got there and got fishing rod out, my tracker went off. I switched to naked and the pet despawned in front of me. Which you can image left me annoyed.
Well I thought might as well just stay in that area now and do other things with the sound on. 5 mins later Ankha spawned again and I was able to tame.
It left me wondering though if Ankha does spawn like that all the time?
