Just as the title says, I got Skarr (While waiting on Karkin, by the way.), and now I want to name him. This is only my second Cat, lol XD

What kinds of names do you prefer?

Hematite (shiny black gem)
Onyx (also shiny black gem)
Shale (see above)
Kuro (black in Japanese)
Kuroi (black descriptive in Japanese)
Kuroneko (black cat, basically, in Japanese. so very creative)
Raoden (I like the name!)

I can't think of many more that fit him.

I was thinking gemstone-esque names, but I want to avoid Onyx, Obsidian and such. Hematite just dosn't seem to fit for a cat, Kuro is a maybe. Shale reminds me too much of my shale spider XD

Thanks for all the suggestions, Sar

Kuroi would be a cool one. If I weren't so familiar with the language and didn't think of it as just naming my pet "black" I might've named my Skarr that. It just doesn't work for me when I look at a work and see "black" though.

You could go with kane, metaru, or kinzoku. Those are all japanese variations of the word metal. They all mean something different in the actual language, but basically translate to metal of some shape or form, and Skarr looks metallic more than gemstone to me.

If you're set on a stone-type name, Seki, Shaku, and Ishi are are various ways of saying/writing the word "stone" in japanese.

Metaru is the literal pronunciation of metal. :D

A good one. Skarr looks metal to me more than gemmy. Karkin is gemmy. Skarr is metal.
