The fifth book has been out long enough that a good portion of fans have finished it now (in other words, *I've* finished it). So, a discussion thread.

Did I mention there will be spoilers?

I'll start:

I was sad about Quentyn's death. But I am a bit of a Dorne fangirl. I'm looking forward to having one of the Sand Snakes in King's Landing.

It's nice for the dragon to finally have its third head. That has been something I've always been constantly wondering about. (And I don't even believe Jon's wounds are fatal.)

I'm also glad to finally learn a little bit more about the children of the forest and greenseers. Skinchangers who can inhabit the weirwoods! I'm pretty sure Mormont's raven has an interesting backstory.

And I may be alone in this, but I missed Brienne this book.

Yes, I think Martin's invested too much in Jon Snow to end his story there. "Kill the boy and let the man be born." Azor Ahai?

I only went as far as thinking the raven housed a former skin-changer, as they all used to. I guess I just assumed the Mormonts preferred bears. I would like to see more about Maege and her daughters!

I know the series was supposed to originally be 6 books, but the one was split, so now we're assuming 7? I know he has working titles for the next two books. I don't keep up with his blog. It is hard to imagine him wrapping it up in two books. Although he's certainly set up a power vacuum in King's Landing for Aegon to step into. The Tyrells are the only major house left there, and Margaery's already married two kings, why not a third?

I loved this book. There still wasn't enough Daenerys for me. She's my favorite character. It did end with a cliffhanger on her part though. I love how she's riding her babies now.

"You mean to ride them?"
"One of them...no rider ever flew two dragons."

So now that Daenerys is riding Drogon, who will be the rider for Viserion (cream/gold)? or Rhaegal (green)?

Who says she just can't pick between them and choose which one she wants to ride. Kinda like "Hmmm I wanna ride this mount today!"

But yeah, I get that. I dunno. I think they're feeling left out. They have no rider!

Well, I'm just assuming the other two riders will be her two nephews, Aegon 'Young Griff' and Jon Snow.

All I'll say is this. Ramsey needs to die before I kill him myself. He has tortured poor Theon and that ticks me off to no end.
