Transmogrify this!

Lets see if this will work.
All rules of the Transmogrifier do apply. Link what item (wowhead works) for each slot your gonna use the Transmogrifier on. Do not worry about slots that can't be seen (Necks, rings, etc..) or the stat item, Just the appearance item, Feel free to put as many as you want and edit for later if you can't make up your mind.
Below is a template if you want to use it:
Code: Select all
Set: Name
Other pieces: Name
Weapon: Name
Ranged Weapon:
For me this is all I got:
Set: Valorous Cryptstalker
Set: Valorous Scourgestalker
Set: Gladiator's Pursuit
Set: Brutal Gladiator's Pursuit
Set: Deadly Gladiator's Pursuit
Set: Hateful Gladiator's Pursuit
Ranged Weapon: Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas
Ranged Weapon: Black Bow of the Betrayer

The Cryptstalker set is awesome!
I'm excited about transmogrification. I'll finally be able to look like a proper blood elf.
Just to simplify, I'm linking the set:
Set : Dragonstalker Armor
I already have the spaulders, breastplate and belt. I need the pants and helm (there's a quest reward look-alike helm that will work, though I'd love to have the actual set piece). I'm not so sure on the Dragonstalker boots and gloves... I may mix and match. The boots are a style I don't care for, especially on blood elf females. Tight in the ankle and then weirdly fat in the calf. Ugly!
I already have this cloak and bow:
Back : Phoenix Wing Cloak
Ranged Weapon : Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix
Undecided on my 2H weapon, but there must be an epic looking BC polearm out there.

Having to have a piece of armor that matches what we want to look like seems clunky to me. Why not make it work similarly to the barber shop? As exciting as it sounds to be able to *customize* armor, having to collect it first just makes me 0_o.
Do I understand it right?
And I'd probably pick dragonstalker, if I had it.

Yes, I think you understand it right. At least as far as current knowledge goes. WoW Insider says "it does appear that you'll need to have the item you want your current gear to look like in your inventory."
http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/blizz ... n-preview/
I am divided on my opinion about that. On the one hand, I would love to be able to customize freely. But on the other, I kind of like that one still has to go to the trouble to collect the pieces. A level 10 mail-wearer can't run around in my Dragonstalker armor that they didn't earn. Selfish of me? Kinda. But I worked for those pieces (not as hard as I would have at the proper level, but still.)
I also appreciate that clothies can't pretend to wear mail or plate, and vice-versa. There will still be some form of class distinction thereby.

"A level 10 mail-wearer can't run around in my Dragonstalker armor that they didn't earn"
They could get around that with level requirements.

1) I'm not happy about the restriction that one type of armor can't look like another (mail looking like leather, for instance), but understand why they want to disallow it. It just means my hunter can't re-image current gear to look like some of the nice looking low level leather stuff that I enjoyed when I was still leveling up. My Death Knight, on the other hand, may just re-image his armor to look like the armor sets you get from the starting areas.
2) I really think they shouldn't require you to own an outdated armor set from previous expansions just to re-image your current gear to look like it. I'm with Dewclaw in that a level requirement would work just fine for that, and telling people they have to go out and buy / raid for outdated sets just seems excessive to me, especially if currently owning it is required (I can just see the poor folks that had to get rid of old armor sets solely for bank space screaming). However, I wouldn't be opposed to a requirement that would make you own (or have owned) the current tier sets if you want to re-image your gear to that. For example, while Cataclysm is the current expansion, if you want to make your T12 gear look like T11 Heroic gear, I think it's reasonable to say you need to have owned the T11 Heroic gear first until they are competely obsoleted by whatever the next expansion is.
3) I do like the fact that players will now get more choice in how their gear looks. If people want to have the conservative looking stuff that covers everything, they can do that. If others want to the perverbial "chain mail bikini" look, they can. I'm just wondering how the role players are going to like it (or hate it). Not that I really care, but it might make for some entertaining reading.

For random bits-and-pieces type armor you should have to own it, but I think it would be cool if they had an option to purchase past Tier Sets for a sum of gold.

It's an appearance tab for your gear. Basically you can take the gear you're wearing, and make it look like something else as long as it's the same armor type. So if you have an oldschool hunter tier set, you can make your current gear appear like the old set while retaining all the current enchants/gems/etc.

Oooooooh....... my druid will be happy for this, i put together pieces of T1 and T4 into an RP set and i absolutely haaaaate how my current armor and weapon looks like >_> im gonna be so friggin happy if i can make it all look like her RP set lol <3 I also read up that the void storage is for clothing.. that will be nice, ive been stockpiling stuff i find that i see potential in for random RP sets lol
Any idea if this is for lvl 85's only? Im sure it will cost gold to transmogrify-- and knowing Etherels... they're prolly gonna rip us off too lol

Actually, from the picture that they showed, it seems fairly cheap.(: And they could always lower the gold cost during testing, too.

Re-thinking my future transmorgifications...
Head : Stylin' Crimson Hat
It's actually mail... and I have the pattern! But what to pair with it?

Mine is pretty simple and boring

Hunter Tier 11 (non-heroic)
Weapon:
Draenic Wildstaff or
Grand Marshal's Glaive depending on what weapon I have at the time.
Ranged Weapon:
Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers

I'm gonna start being a horrible hunter and collect some shaman gear. They have skirts! And since it wouldn't matter what the stats were, it's not like it'd hurt me. :1
I do feel kinda bad, buying them out from shamans who could use them, though.

There are so many cool Mail sets out there, I'm only scratching the surface of the possibilities. Here are some I'd like to get though (the shaman lookalike sets are the coolest, since I think it would be great to wear a skirt for a change xD) Some are just simple sets, but I love the look of them.

Veph, what are the middle two in the top row? I want them. They're gorgeous.

The first kilt one is Tidefury Raiment, and the second is a mish-mash of Harness of the Deep Currents, Fathomheart Gauntlets, Mantle of the Sea Wolf, Oceansong Kilt, and Wavefury Boots.
