So, I've been off and on camping Karkin for several weeks now. I mostly just pop in to check, or my girlfriend does. When I started the camp, it was for Karkin and Skarr, but she got Skarr for me pretty quickly. Since then, we've been babysitting Skarr. It's always Skarr. I have walked 3 hunters thru the tame so far. She has walked a couple thru too, I think. One of the best ones was when I logged in to see a troll rogue killing Skarr. He nearly had him dead, but his health was low too. BUT....this is on a PvP server and I'm alliance there! Stabbed the rogue to death with bullets and an owl and Skarr happily sat back down and stared at the two horde hunters that had apparently been trying to tame him. They decided I must be a threat, so killed me. Understandable. I logged over to my horde toon and explained things. Turned out neither one had any idea how to tame Skarr. I walked them thru it and yay for shiny new kitty for one of them! He was very pleased. Made my day almost as much as karkin would have. Then, 6 hours after that, Skarr spawned again. I did a /who and found a nice nelf who wanted him and had no idea how to get him and didn't have silencing shot. So, I helped her with my silencing shot and she named her new kitty Pompei, which I think is very fitting. And tonight, I helped a worgen get him. So...please Karkin? I've helped Skarr out...please spawn?

Good luck! It's the opposite on my main server, Karkin is always up over there and whenever Skarr spawns its a bloody war of people trying to get a hold of him, seeing as he is the more 'rare' of the two where I am. I camped Skarr and found about six Karkin before I finally got my cat.

I don't know whether it's bad timing, a lot of hunters taming, or someone actively going after the rares, but I haven't seen any of the challenge rares out in the wild for a few weeks now. I've only ever seen Skarr once (tamed him, yay!) and never seen an untamed Karkin. I don't even see hunters hanging out camping for them.

I'm not actively camping Karkin, though. I kind of want him, but figure if I'm meant to have him, I'll get him. In a way I sort of need to tame him so that Starsky (formerly known as Skarr) will have a Hutch.

Karkin spawned while I was at work tonight. My girlfriend tried to get him for me, but hordies kept killing her and then tamed it just cause she was trying to tame it. She was talking to them on her account on her hordie while trying to tame it on mine for me...they were not nice about it, lets put it that way.

Karkin is always killed on my server. Horde or alliance, it doesn't matter. Either side will kill that shiny crab the minute he pops. I guess since he's so shiny they think he drops shiniez? I have no idea. I hate the people on my server.

I have yet to see a hunter with a Karkin on my server.... he is the "rarer" of the two on my server. I certainly see more people with Skarr, myself included.

I hardly ever see Skarr or Karkin on my server. So many people try to kill them. Recently eagle eye'd over Skarr / Karkin's spawn point only to see Skarr dead.

Man, that sucks, Teigan. I hope you get your Karkin soon!!! At least your gf tried! I think I'd have to beg my husband to try to tame something for me while I was gone.

Karkin is a crab, how often do you see people running around with a crab (i was going to type crabs but that would be bad).

I sat for hours upon hours and everytime I sit solo, Karkin spawns. If there's other hunters around, Skarr spawns and someone else gets it. Sick to death of camping this cat.

I tamed Karkin today just to reset the spawn, already had him, because no one else was after him.

I am just happy to know there is even hunters out there that -want- to tame Karkin. Back after I'd gotten Skarr, I got to thinking about it. I had seen this Troll Hunter who had also been camping Skarr kill Karakin like a -ton- of different times. I really dont know how many times I would eagle eye up there out of curosity to see him sitting infront of his dead corpse. It just made me sad. So finally I decided to tame him for my own. Heh.

My mains (Teigan) favorite pet is a crab.... <3 my Rune

Rares make people proud, and therefore I would assume people would run around with him because for a regular non spiky crab he is pretty neat looking. I'm not a real fan of crabs as a tank pet, mostly due to the fact that I have a very cute yellow shale spider that fights by my side.... and my baby hunter has a warpy. Its what I personally prefer cause I'm vain and all about looks, and those two pets are really cute. But since I often run around with my tank pets when I solo quest, I would assume that if I had a Karkin I would run around with him (I personally don't want Karkin, cause I love my shale spider way too much). Basically, I have yet to see even one Karkin on my server (and I always check out other peoples pets, cause I'm crazy and seriously haven't seen one). And there are quite a few people who run around with crabs on my server, and I've seen several people PvP with em cause they like the pin ability.

Every molten front tamable rare has blared my NPC scan except Karkin.

And once again....its Skarr. Found him a nice night elf who collects kitties. Hopefully they are happy together. *sigh*

Teigan! Come to my server, Karkin likes me. I see him like all the time.

No Karkin again tonight. I guess he was up earlier while I was at work But, the night elf I helped get Skarr last night whispered me to tell me Ban was up. I already had him, so I helped the elf get Ban. Thats something, at least
