I know reposting a post from another forum isn't exactly useful in and of itself, but I thought a few people on here might find this post useful:
wow.com's guide to gearing up your hunter without raiding.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that there was a BOE gun I could get that was better than the old BOE gun I have. (I even went and bid on one!)

Mmm. I have a weakness for crossbows though, so now that I got my hands on the feltglacier I'm not changing weapons until Cataclysm!
I do like his argument though!
Best of all, it's a gun! So while you may get mocked for carrying a tank weapon, it's a lot better than carrying an elf weapon and being mistaken for a tree-humpin' hippie.

I was ignoring that line.

I prefer crossbows and I'll take bows over guns because of the noise. But I also recognize my preferred playstyle, which is lackadaisical, and if I can spend gold to make my death less likely when I do something stupid, I will.

I know there's a lot of debate about ranged weapons. Personally, I was so very happy when I could get rid of Sara's old gun for the crossbow. I just like her better with a crossbow.

But whether you agree with his assessment or not, you have to admit he evokes a vivid image with his words.

I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a dwarf and feels that whole distrust towards the night elves...
