Cause 'he' just gave birth to about six baby scorplings.

Musta been pregnant when I bought it I was reading and they can apparently be pregnant up to 18 months before giving birth.
I was wondering the same thing though; I was like 'how the hell... the cage is sealed..' and then I looked that up.

Hah, i know some species can hold their babies till they think its safe (the moving in the stores probably scared it too much)
But... the scorpian mating takes a lot of time and room... Someone had to have noticed it at some point and just not said anything
Bah happy parent hood Charlie Sheen, what do you plan on doing with the babies?

The thing is these scorpions are pretty tiny, she was pretty tiny when I got her and the people at the store didn't really seem to know much. She was always sorta big for her size but I just didn't pay any attention to it. I'm gonna try and see if the local colleges science department wants some of them because one of the teachers there loves bugs and snakes and such and I figure he might take 'em. If he doesn't then I'm not sure

, I'll find someone somewhere who wants em.

Congrats, that's awesome! And for some reason, the idea of a mother scorpion named Charlie Sheen is hilarious. I keep giggling!

I'm sure you'll find all the mini-Sheens a good home. 'Til then, enjoy the little duders--I'm sure 'he' is a proud momma.

HERE
is a crappy cellphone quality picture of CharlieSheen and her scorplings, I think she might be eating some of them.... because today there's only 3. She has a bunch of crickets in the cage to eat so I don't know why she would go after the scorplings. Unless they for whatever reason climbed off and were hiding and I couldn't find them but I don't think they're old enough to do that. The little white dots on her head/back are the scorplings so hard to see with my crappy phone D:<

Aw. Unfortunately I believe this is fairly common with arthropod pets. I hope the rest of the babies survive! Is it okay to take them away from her? Separate them so they stay safe? I don't know much about scorpions.

They won't survive off their mom until they have their first molt so I think it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation :\

That's too bad... I hope the ones left make it. Fingers crossed!
I once found a white mouse out on the sidewalk, and took her home in my glove... borrowed an empty aquarium from a friend to house her in... she had babies the next day, and ate them all. I figured it was stress from being outside (still wondering why a pregnant pet mouse was wandering around on her own) and from being in a place she didn't know was safe. Or she was sick/injured in some way... she died a few weeks later of no causes that I could see. She was just dead.
